Abstract: A garage door opening system for alerting a user if the garage door is left open featuring an interface unit for integrating into the garage door, the interface unit comprises a motor microprocessor, a door position sensor; and an interface transceiver; and a remote device comprising a remote microprocessor, a remote transceiver, a speaker, and a push button, wherein the push button functions to move the garage door between the open and closed positions, wherein the transceivers are in two-way communication with each other within a range, wherein if the remote device is out of range and the garage door is left open the alarm is activated to alert the user.

Abstract: A keyboard lighting device is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, a moving member may be placed in an operating position protruding from the keyboard, or in a retracted position. In the operating position, light is redirected from a light source to the keyboard so that use of the keyboard in dark environments is facilitated. Preferably, when the moving member is in its retracted position, the keyboard light appears to be a key on the keyboard.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention secure docking stations, notebook computers and removable devices. In one embodiment, a docking station is provided. The docking station includes a base unit for engaging a computer and a lock including a lock mechanism, a key receptacle exposed in an opening on a side of the base unit, and a t-bar extending from the lock mechanism. The docking station also includes an ejection mechanism on the base unit, a lever arm having a first surface for engaging the t-bar of the lock, the lever arm rotating when the t-bar moves between a locked position and an unlocked position, and a sliding member, responsive to movement of the lever arm, that slides into a position to interfere with the ejection mechanism when the lock is in a locked position such that the ejection mechanism is disabled from releasing the computer from the base unit.

Abstract: An accessory for a computer provides both an auxiliary battery and a port replicator in an integrated unit. In one embodiment, the accessory includes a docking connector, a battery, and at least one communication port, with the battery and communication port connected to the docking connector so that power from the battery and communication signals to the communication port can pass through the docking connector.

Abstract: Computing devices and related input devices are described. In one exemplary embodiment, the computing device is a portable computing device which includes a housing and a deployable input device attached to the housing, wherein the deployable input device can be deployed from a stowed position to an extended position without changing a desktop footprint of the computing device, and wherein the deployable input device is rotatable about an axis for generating input signals.
