  • Patent number: 9232563
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for an aggregation of bandwidth from multiple wireless devices. In some examples, a source device may communicate with a destination device at a first bandwidth. The source device may divide data into a first piece and a second piece. The source device may transmit the first piece to a first wireless device and the second piece to a second wireless device over a first network. The first wireless device and second wireless device may communicate with the destination device at a second bandwidth and a third bandwidth respectively. The first bandwidth may be less than an aggregation of the second bandwidth and the third bandwidth. The first wireless device may transmit the first piece over a second network, different from the first network, to the destination device. The second wireless device may transmit the second piece over a third network, different from the first network, to the destination device.

  • Publication number: 20150124615
Abstract: A traffic controller for a data network that includes a plurality of network nodes, a plurality of network links connecting the network nodes, and one or more edge routers, each edge router being configured to control network traffic based on permitted link capacities, and wherein one or more sources of downstream traffic data enter the network downstream of the one or more edge routers, the traffic controller including a receiver operable to periodically receive downstream transmission byte counts from at least some of the network nodes, a processor coupled with the receiver, operable to periodically update the permitted link capacities based on the network node downstream byte counts received by the receiver, and a transmitter coupled with the processor operable to periodically transmit the thus-updated permitted link capacities to the one or more edge routers for their use in controlling the network traffic.

  • Patent number: 6680904
Abstract: Network access apparatus includes first and second master units, each having a physical interface to a packet-switched network. A plurality of slave units, each slave unit having one or more ports to respective subscriber lines, are linked by a plurality of physical interface lines in one or more daisy chains, in which the slave units are mutually connected in series by the physical interface lines therebetween. Each daisy chain includes at least a first slave unit connected by one of the physical interface lines to the first master unit and a last slave unit connected by another of the physical interface lines to the second master unit.
