  • Patent number: 10230411
Abstract: A method and apparatus for distinguishing voice signals that are played together over the same speaker employs spectral reshaping of one or more of the audio signals. The spectral reshaping shifts modifies the timber of the voice signal while not modifying the pitch of the voice signal. Additional techniques can be used to further distinguish voice signals, such as dynamic gain offset and frequency shifting. After processing one or more signals to spectrally reshape them, they can be played over the same speaker. A user hearing the resulting acoustic signal will be more able to distinguish between the multiple voice signals being played.

  • Patent number: 10019151
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing a touch-screen device is provided herein. During operation UI elements are arranged and re-arrange dynamically and based on user's current contact locations on the touch screen. Preferably, the contact positions correspond to a user's finger positions so that the UI elements are automatically placed where a person's fingers make contact with the touch screen. Because the UI elements on the touch screen always “look for” the user's fingers, instead of the user looking for them, it becomes much easier and more time-efficient for a user to find a particular UI element.

  • Publication number: 20170351421
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling user interface elements is provided herein. During operation, a pressure or velocity of a touch or swipe is measured. Based on the pressure and/or velocity of the touch or swipe, the input will be applied to a particular user interface element from a plurality of user interface elements.

  • Patent number: 9781582
Abstract: Short data is transmitted during a call hang time hold off period in a wireless communication system. During an active call on a voice channel, a radio controller detects deactivation of a push-to-talk (PTT) input at a transmitting mobile station (MS) via an uplink channel portion of the voice channel and identifies a particular MS in the wireless communication system in need to transmit short data. Responsively, the radio controller causes a call hang time hold off request to be transmitted via a downlink channel portion of the voice channel to all MSs in the active call instructing the mobile stations to delay call hang time during a call hang time hold off period. The radio controller then causes a short data transmission request to be sent to the particular MS instructing the particular MS to transmit inbound short data during the call hang time hold off period.

  • Publication number: 20130215101
Abstract: An anamorphic display device is provided herein. The display device produces anamorphically-displayed elements via a visual three-dimensional illusion for two-dimensional content element of a viewing surface. Context-aware circuitry may determine a viewpoint, and the viewpoint can be used to determine an angle where viewing ray intersects the viewing surface. A geometric algorithm is used to reconstruct the two-dimensional content element appropriately on the viewing surface. The observer can observe the three-dimensional illusion of the two-dimensional content element out of the plane viewing surface in the observer's perspective at the viewpoint, as if the original two-dimensional content element were placed in the three-dimensional space. This allows easier viewing of material at off angles.
