Publication number: 20230300031Abstract: A method for configuring network traffic and a computer system are provided. The computer system includes a processing unit and a network module that is operated based on a bandwidth configuration. The processing unit operates an operating system that executes a profiling-controlling program. The method is performed in the operating system. In the method, the operating system initiates a system kernel, and the profiling-controlling program can obtain kernel operation information from the system kernel, so that information of multiple applications operating in a foreground process and a background process of the operating system can be retrieved. A priority order is decided, and a network bandwidth configuration is formed and written into traffic control instructions of the system kernel or a driver of the network module. The network bandwidth configuration allows the operating system to perform a traffic configuration on each of the applications.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2023Publication date: September 21, 2023Inventors: TSAI-WEI WU, HSU-TUNG WANG, YI-KUAN WU, MING-CHIEH LI, MENG-JU LIN

Patent number: 10666566Abstract: The present invention discloses a network traffic control system capable of properly using bandwidth of a local area network (LAN). An embodiment of the system includes a master device and at least one slave device(s). The master device and the slave device(s) belong to the same LAN. The master device is configured to receive at least one flow notification packet(s) from each slave device, and determine flow allocation of the master device and each slave device according to the flow notification packet(s) and a total flow threshold. The master device is further configured to generate at least one flow control packet(s) according to the flow allocation of all the slave device(s) and transmit one or more packet(s) in accordance with the flow control packet(s) to each of the slave device(s), so that each slave device determines flow allocation of its executing network-dependent program(s) according to the one or more packet(s).Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2018Date of Patent: May 26, 2020Assignee: REALTEK SEMICONDUCTOR CORPORATIONInventors: Meng-Ju Lin, Yu-Kuen Wu, Tzu-Yun Yeh

Patent number: 7546385Abstract: A network interface driver embodied in a processor readable medium comprising executable program instruction that, when executed by a processor, independently process internetworking protocols for a hot computer (or other network access device) with another computer on a remote network. The driver appears to the operating system as a regular network interface driver, but it can support enhanced kernel-level internetworking protocols by using a state machine to generate, drop, and change incoming and outgoing IP packets in a manner transparent to the operating system.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2005Date of Patent: June 9, 2009Assignee: AT&T Corp.Inventors: Paul Shala Henry, Meng-Ju Lin, Hui Luo

Patent number: 7403543Abstract: The present invention provides a TCP/IP header compression format as a label in package transmitting. The header format is used under the acknowledgement mode in wireless network to reduce the header transmission amount between the base station and the mobile station, comprising: a connecting sequence number field for storing a connecting sequence number to indicate the required TCP/IP header information related base stations; a buffer length field for storing a length value of the buffer region to indicate the acceptable package number of the buffer region in receiver; and a plurality of control flag fields for providing certain necessary information for transmission control.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2004Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: Qisda CorporationInventors: Chih-Hsin Lee, Meng-Ju Lin

Publication number: 20050101304Abstract: A mobile phone with auto-response capability is provided. The mobile phone includes a control module and a menu module. A memory stores a variety of response modes. The menu module is provided for setting a valid period to a first response mode which is selected by the control module. During the valid period, the control module answers an incoming call by the first response mode when the mobile phone doesn't establish a connection with the call.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2004Publication date: May 12, 2005Inventors: Meng-Ju Lin, Yu-Lan Lo
