    Abstract: A method for synchronous and fast determination of total arsenic and contents of arsenic metabolites in urine, which relates to the technical field of analysis of toxic and harmful organic pollutants, can be applied to analysis of urine samples of a population with occupational exposure to high-arsenic substances and provide metabolic stage data of arsenic in individuals of the exposed population. According to the method, ICP-MS is used for rapidly measuring the total arsenic of a human urine sample, and when the total arsenic of the urine samples exceeds a preset warning line, the ICP-MS is switched to HPLC-ICP-MS for separation and quantitatively analysis of five metabolites in urine, including arsenic betaine, trivalent inorganic arsenic, dimethylarsinic acid, monomethylarsonic acid and pentavalent inorganic arsenic.
