    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device that uses a first radio access technology (RAT) may identify a transmission timing scheme for a shared radio frequency spectrum band, the transmission timing scheme comprising a first set of time intervals allocated for transmissions using a first RAT and a second set of time intervals allocated for transmissions using a second RAT. The wireless device may transmit, during a time interval of the first set of time intervals, a channel reservation signal indicating an end time of the time interval and indicating that the wireless device uses the first RAT. The wireless device may transmit, based at least in part on the transmitted channel reservation signal, over the shared radio frequency spectrum band during at least a portion of the time interval before the end time of the time interval.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for sharing a transmission opportunity (TXOP) of a wireless channel. A first wireless local area network (WLAN) device can win a contention-based procedure to become an owner of the TXOP and determine to use the TXOP as a multi-device transmission opportunity (mTXOP). Although the first WLAN device is the owner of the mTXOP, the first WLAN device may allocate resources from the mTXOP to share with other WLAN devices. During a first portion of the mTXOP, the first WLAN device allocate subordinate transmission opportunities (sub-TXOPs) for use by other WLAN devices during a second portion of the mTXOP. The allocation of sub-TXOPs may be prepared based on fairness considerations, latency considerations, or both. In some implementations, a sub-TXOP may be allocated for a non-WLAN device, such as a wireless wide area network (WWAN) apparatus.

In some aspects, a candidate address from an LAA range may be selected by either a first apparatus (such as a wireless station, STA) or a network apparatus (such as an access point, AP). A candidate address test may be performed by the STA or AP to determine if another apparatus is using the candidate network address on a communication medium. An extended address test may be used to determine if the candidate network address is being used by another apparatus in a layer two (data link layer) domain of a network. Several techniques for changing an LAA are provided, including techniques that use a fast session transfer (FST) procedure. In a peer-to-peer network, address changes may be handled using tunneled address change messages.

An AP may identify updated capability information and transmit a HE physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) including a beacon frame. A STA may receive, from the AP, the HE or EHT PPDU and identify an indication of change to a content or format of the beacon frame relative to a reference beacon frame. Based on the identified indication, the STA may then determine an updated content or format for the beacon frame and process the beacon frame or skip processing for one or more portions of the beacon frame.

In some implementations, master devices may contend for access to the shared medium during a medium reservation window (MRW). During the MRW, master devices may advertise their intent to reserve at least a portion of the shared medium for one or more timeslots within a subsequent medium utilization period. The reservation messages may be broadcast to other master devices in the vicinity to prevent other master devices from accessing the wireless medium during a reserved timeslot. In some implementations, the owner of a timeslot may share at least a portion of its timeslot with other master devices. For example, the timeslot owner may enable other master devices to utilize an unused portion of the wireless medium, such as unused channels, spatial streams, or time.

The STA may identify, from a number of packet number generation schemes, a scheme that the STA is to use to construct a packet number for the WUR frame. Following the scheme identification, the STA may generate a packet number for the received WUR frame using the identified scheme and determine whether to discard the WUR frame based on the generated packet number. In some implementations, the STA may determine whether the STA is to use, for communications received from an access point (AP) to the WUR, a same key or a second key, the second key being different from a first key used by the STA to receive protected communications from the AP to a primary radio of the STA.

The wakeup tokens may be unique to the wireless device and may be transmitted over a secure connection. An access point (AP) wishing to activate a main radio (e.g., for high throughput communications) may transmit a wakeup radio (WUR) frame, including a wakeup token from the set of wakeup tokens, to a secondary radio of the wireless device. The wireless device may, upon reception of the WUR frame, activate the main radio and transmit a wakeup acknowledgement (ACK) to the AP. The AP may then communicate with the wireless device via the main radio.
