  • Patent number: 7201161
Abstract: A compound spring-loaded archery bow, which retains the appearance of a traditional bow, has a rigid bow frame that is formed by a central riser with a handgrip and arrow rest, an upper limb extending upward from the central riser and a lower limb extending downward from the central riser. Cam mechanisms are mounted at the upper end of the upper limb and the lower end of the lower limb and a bowstring is secured to and extends between the upper and lower cam mechanisms. When the bowstring is drawn from an initial preset position to shoot an arrow, there is a synchronized actuation of the upper and lower cam mechanisms. The upper and lower limbs are tubular and contain separate upper and lower spring assemblies for applying tension to the bowstring through the cam mechanisms only when the bowstring is drawn from its initial preset position.

  • Patent number: 4919405
Abstract: A fletching guide for attaching pre-formed flights to arrow shafts. Fletching guides, in number equivalent to the number of flights to be attached to an arrow shaft, are splayed outwardly from the central axis of the tool. Pre-formed flights are placed in the guide and adhesive is applied along the edge of the flight which will contact the arrow shaft. The guides bearing the flights with adhesive applied are then moved to a position so as to embracingly encompass the arrow shaft and hold the flights in position until the adhesive has cured. To accommodate special circumstances, a nock aligning means within the tool is rotatingly displacable so as to selectedly position the arrow flights on the arrow shaft in a desired geometric relationship with the nock at the end of the arrow shaft.

  • Patent number: 4653738
Abstract: A fletching tool holds fletching in individually splayable fletching guides, precisely locating an arrow shaft in spaced relation to the fletching, while adhesive between fletching and shaft dries. Anti-stick surfaces resist excess glue upon the tool. Provision is made to adjust the distance and angular orientation of the arrow nock to the fletching. The tool is useful for field replacement of damaged fletching as well as making of new arrows.
