  • Patent number: 4906020
Abstract: In a vehicle having a body with a floor, a ceiling, and a driver's seat: a passive barrier arrangement includes a restraining barrier having a restraining shield bounded by first, second and third restraining shield belts. The first and second restraining shield belts are fixed to the vehicle ceiling, and the third restraining shield belt is connected between the first two at the bottom of the shield. First and second elongate takeup belts are connected to the bottoms of the first two restraining shield belts. First and second takeup belt retractors are mounted to the body and the takeup belts are received by the retractors. The restraining barrier is held by breakaway fastening means in contact with the ceiling of the vehicle when in stowed position. When a crash occurs, the takeup belts are retracted into their retractors, bringing the restraining barrier to have position in front of a driver or passenger sitting on the vehicle seat(s).

  • Patent number: 4407315
Abstract: A permanently mounted tank cleaning apparatus cleans interior surfaces of a bulk milk storage tank using a plurality of cleaning cycles, each cycle characterized by a separate cleaning step. The tank includes a device for dispersing fluid against the interior surfaces of the tank and an outlet proximate its bottom interior surface. A pump is fixedly associated with the dispersing device by a conduit and pumps fluid to the dispersing device through the conduit. A three-way valve assembly is fixedly attached to the outlet of the tank and is positionable in a closed position, a milk removal position, and a tank cleaning position. A solenoid drain valve is positioned between the pump and the tank cleaning position of the three-way valve and below the bottom interior surface of the tank.

  • Patent number: 4075545
Abstract: A pair of air driven impeller rotors mounted in the front end portion of a vehicle and operatively connected to one or more generators for charging drive motor energizing batteries responsive to forward movement of the vehicle. The impeller rotors are disposed in radially spaced parallel relationship to provide an air passageway therebetween, each rotor including a cylindrical drum and vanes projecting outwardly from the drum. The impeller rotors operate to rotate the generator field or pole pieces in one direction and the generator armature or armatures in the opposite direction. Guide structure includes a pair of cross-sectionally arcuate guide portions which cooperate with the impeller to define discharge passageways extending generally circumferentially of the impeller rotors.
