  • Patent number: 4191262
Abstract: A light soil tillage implement is adapted to be drawn by a farm tractor, and is designed to perform a light tillage immediately preceeding fertilizing, planting, and/or other farming operations. The implement comprises a frame having support wheels thereon engaging the ground, one or more tool bars having ground working tools thereon, and a mounting mechanism for each tool bar connecting each tool bar with the frame. Each mounting mechanism comprises a series of linkage elements which resiliently bias the working tools downwardly into the soil when the implement is in a tilling position. The mounting mechanism is adapted to positively lift the tools and tool bars out of engagement with the ground when it is desired to transport the implement, and further individually mounts each tool bar in a manner which allows the same to laterally rotate about a central point thereon in order to follow the contour of the soil independent from the other tool bars.

  • Patent number: 4149734
Abstract: A detachable saddle tank arrangement for agricultural vehicles comprises a brace member shaped for detachable connection with the front frame or chasis portion of the tractor, and a pair of arm members having a forward end thereof pivotally attached to opposite ends of the brace member. The arm members are shaped for removably fastening the same to side portions of the tractor frame, and have liquid storage tanks mounted on the free ends thereof. A stand mechanism bodily supports the tank assembly at a height substantially coextensive with the tractor frame, whereby the tanks may be individually pivoted between a fanned apart, storage position, and a retracted or folded operational position to facilitate one man attachment and detachment of the tanks with the tractor.

  • Patent number: 3946681
Abstract: An earth working apparatus for use in agricultural pre-planting operations includes a first frame having laterally spaced ground engaging wheels and a second frame having a leading edge thereof pivotally mounted on the first frame adjacent a leading edge thereof and movable between a storage position and a working position. The second frame has a mower thereon for cutting vegetation extending above a ground surface and a first plurality of sweeps for opening a plurality of laterally spaced furrows to receive gaseous fertilizer therein and a second plurality of sweeps to close the furrows after introducing the gaseous fertilizer thereinto. The first plurality of sweeps each have a flow passage thereon for flow of gaseous fertilizer into the respective furrows from a storage and supply tank mounted on the first frame.
