  • Patent number: 11071815
Abstract: The disposable protective cover for ear washing machines is designed to protect a patient's ear from bacteria or infection during use of the machine. The cover is a flexible, resilient tube having an open end and a reinforced ring about the open end. The opposite end of the tube is hemispherical and closed, but having a central, circular opening for ear washing solution from the ear washing machine to exit the cover and enter the ear. To place the cover on the ear washing machine's nozzle, the cover is first rolled up to form a disc and the protective cover is placed against the nozzle with the central opening aligned with the nozzle's circular outlet port. It is then unrolled as much as possible over the outer surface of the nozzle. The protective cover is disposed of after each use to prevent the spread of bacteria or infection between patients.

  • Patent number: 10391269
Abstract: The nasal sprayer with multiple applicators is a liquid dispensing device with two separate applicators. A first applicator is in the form of a spray nozzle, similar to that of a conventional nasal sprayer, which is provided for atomized liquid dispensing to the nasal passages. A second applicator is in the form of a flexible tube, which is adapted for dispensing liquid to deeper regions, such as the Eustachian tube or the adenoid or sinus regions. The nasal sprayer with multiple applicators includes a receptacle for receiving a volume of a liquid medicament for intranasal treatment. A pump assembly selectively transfers a metered dose of the liquid medicament to a dispensing assembly for dispensing through a selected one of first and second ports. A spray nozzle is in fluid communication with the first port and a flexible spray tube is in fluid communication with the second port.

  • Publication number: 20190159828
Abstract: The active electrode assembly for an electrosurgical device includes an electrically conductive shaft having opposed proximal and distal ends, the proximal end being adapted for connection to a conventional electrosurgical device. An electrically insulating sheath partially covers the distal end of the electrically conductive shaft. The electrically insulating sheath has a cut-out portion or recess formed therein, such that a portion of the distal end of the electrically conductive shaft is exposed therethrough. The exposed portion of the distal end defines an application surface for applying electrical current to the patient's tissue. The area surrounding the application surface remains covered by the electrically insulating sheath, thus providing electrically insulating protection for both the patient and the surgeon.

  • Publication number: 20190151517
Abstract: The aural suction device includes a rigid tubular handle, a flexible tube detachably connected to the tubular handle, and a safety stop adjustably secured to an outer surface of the flexible tube. The flexible tube can be inserted into the ear of a patient and the aural suction device can be connected to a suction source to remove liquid from the ear. The safety stop can be positioned on the flexible tube to limit a length of the flexible tube to be inserted into the ear. The length of the flexible tube inserted into the ear can be sufficient to provide appropriate suction without impacting the eardrum if the patient moves unexpectedly during the procedure.

  • Patent number: 10052169
Abstract: The shield for an electrosurgical suction coagulator includes a cylindrical cuff and a shielding portion. The cylindrical cuff is sized for releasably engaging a distal end of a shaft of an electrosurgical suction coagulator. The shielding portion has an arcuate cross-sectional contour and is mounted on the cylindrical cuff such that the shielding portion extends distally therefrom. The shielding portion has a radius of curvature equal to a radius of curvature of the cylindrical cuff and is positioned coaxially therewith. A plurality of shields for the electrosurgical suction coagulator may be provided in a kit, along with the electrosurgical suction coagulator. In the kit, a circumferential length of each shielding portion of each shield is unique, such that a user of the electrosurgical suction coagulator may select a desired one of the shields for a desired amount of shielding coverage.
