  • Patent number: 5816082
Abstract: An anti-theft device (18) mounted to a wheel (90) or the like. Device (18) includes a shield (20) that mounts on top of a wheel (90), with adjustable links (63, 64) at one end (27) of device (18) thrust through voids (91) separating spokes (92) of the wheel (90), and with swingable elbow members (55, 56) at the other end (38) of device (16) thrust through steering wheel voids (91). Legs (58) on the elbow members (55, 56) swing into clasping or yoke members (70), after which a locking bar assembly (80) mounts to the yoke members (70) and by which the device (18) is placed in a locked mode on the wheel (90). The elbow members (55, 56) include arms (57) which, along with the links (63, 64), are adjustable to provide change in depth to the device (18). The shield (20) includes a pair of panels (21, 22) that are slidably engageable with each other, with a fastener (28) and holes (23) in one of the panels that fixes the two together in one of a number of different lengths for the device (18).

  • Patent number: 4883102
Abstract: A tank drain apparatus comprising an annular seal member (56) mounted on a tube (55) in turn mounted on a transparent drain hose (72), a sleeve (67) connecting tube (55) and hose (72) together, a portable ground stand assembly (15), and a unique leverage mechanism (10) operatively connecting sleeve (67) and stand (15) together, so that seal member (56) can be elevated to or lowered from the tank. A blade (61) in seal member (56) engages a drain valve while indicia (80, 83) on sleeve (67) indicates egree of angular rotation for tube (55) as against sleeve (67) to show the valve is opened or closed. Linkage mechanism (10) is adjustable in terms of its position on stand assembly (15). Also, the effort arm (36) of mechanism (10) can be locked in place by a clamping screw (52)-and-rod (53) arrangement mounted below the pivot point on the stand (15) for effort arm (36), to maintain seal member (56) in its elevated position against the tank's drain outlet.

  • Patent number: 4832476
Abstract: A Blind Spot Rear-View Mirror Assembly System whereby the blind spot to either rearside of the driven vehicle can be observed by the operator. Such system comprises a secondary mirror assembly swivally mounted to the primary or interiorly mounted rear-view mirror assembly in the vehicle. The system includes a base member mounted to the backwall of the primary assembly, and on which a pivot mechanism is mounted, a rod-and-ball arrangement pivotally mounted to such mechanism, with the ball being universally swiveable in a socket in the secondary mirror assembly. A retainer is mounted on the base member to retain the rod in its adjustable length-wise position to the primary assembly with such retention also preventing the primary assembly from freely pivoting about the pivot mechanism, the rod becoming automatically free of the retainer in the event the body of operator or passenger strikes the secondary assembly in a jarring collesion.
