  • Publication number: 20090002598
Abstract: Provided is a backlight unit with an extending portion that extends from one of a plurality of sheets included in an optical sheet. The optical sheet is on a light guide plate, and a light emitting diode chip is disposed at a side of the light guide plate. A portion of a flexible printed circuit board, to which the light emitting diode chip is mounted, overlaps a portion of the light guide plate. The extending portion overlaps the portion of the flexible printed circuit board. Thus, the occurrence of lines of light due to light progressing between the light guide plate and the flexible printed circuit board can be prevented, thereby obtaining uniform brightness and improving image quality.

  • Publication number: 20090007053
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a mask for a semiconductor device includes checking layout data for a mask in the semiconductor device and correcting any errors in the layout data that violate the design rule, filling small jogs in the layout data, performing optical proximity correction on the jog-filled layout data, and generating a mask pattern using the jog-filled layout data subjected to the optical proximity correction. By this process, it is possible to simplify the layout database to be subjected to optical proximity correction and minimize any errors that may cause unnecessary optical proximity correction (OPC) issues.

  • Publication number: 20090006081
Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for encoding or decoding an audio signal or a speech signal. In the encoding method, encoding is performed by performing domain transformation on a received signal in units of frequency bands by applying a psychoacoustic model, encoding the transformation result with respect to predetermined one or more frequency bands by using a high temporal resolution coding tool, and then quantizing the encoding result. In the decoding method, decoding is performed by inversely quantizing signals obtained by encoding in units of frequency bands, decoding one or more signals from among the inversely quantized signals, which are allocated to one or more frequency bands which have a predetermined domain resolution, determined by applying the psychoacoustic model, that is greater than a predetermined value, according to a predetermined method, and then inversely transforming either the inversely quantized or the one or more decoded signals.

  • Publication number: 20090001895
Abstract: An organic electro-luminescent display device includes barriers in a non-display area to protect a display area from water and oxygen. Barriers may include a permeation prevention barrier, a voltage contact portion, and a blocking layer. A permeation prevention barrier includes contact portions where a barrier layer having a lower permeability than a passivation layer penetrates through the passivation layer. A voltage contact portion penetrates the passivation layer so that a signal supply line contacts a conductive material. A blocking layer covers a wall, a planarization layer, and an inorganic insulation layer, and has a lower permeability than the planarization layer, the wall, and the inorganic insulation layer. The permeation prevention barrier, the voltage contact portion, and the blocking layer may be used in various combinations.
