Abstract: The present method that manages play lists on a rewritable storage medium records additional flag information indicating whether an A/V stream clip is allowed to be partially deleted or edited in a play list corresponding to the A/V stream clip recorded on a rewritable optical disk (BD-RW) and selectively executes a user's request to edit the A/V stream clip depending on the flag information, thereby effectively preventing programs or movies the copyright of which should be protected from being edited illegally.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for dubbing audio on rewritable medium such as a high-density rewritable optical disc (BD-RE) which is capable of simultaneously recording a main A/V stream and a dubbed audio stream on the recording medium, while automatically and continuously producing and recording real play lists and a virtual play list adapted to control reproduction of the main A/V stream and dubbed audio stream. In accordance with this method, the user can conveniently manage recording of a dubbed audio stream corresponding to a main A/V stream on the rewritable recording medium.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for managing recording and reproduction of a multi-dubbed audio stream. This method includes the steps of producing virtual play lists, the number of which corresponds to the number of dubbed audio streams desired by a user in association with the clip-unit main A/V stream, for reading and reproduction of the dubbed audio streams, and recording a common play item, for reading and reproduction of the clip-unit main A/V stream, in the virtual play lists, while recording distinct sub play items, for reading and reproduction of the dubbed audio streams associated therewith, in the virtual play lists, respectively. Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of managing summary information of play lists. In the present method, summary information is written in a specific file other than a play list file wherein the summary information is summarized from information written in play list files created under file structure of a recording medium. Afterwards, the summary information written in the specific file is read, and at least one thumbnail representing a play list is displayed onto a menu screen for user selections with reference to the read summary information. Through the concentrated summary information, play list related information such as thumbnails can be displayed fast.
