    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to artificial leather and a method of manufacturing the same, and more particularly, to suede artificial leather for a vehicle seat with improved light fastness and tactile sensitivity, and a method of manufacturing the same. In accordance with one aspect of the present disclosure, a method of manufacturing artificial leather comprise needle-punching a sea-island type ultrafine conjugated yarn having a sea component of easily soluble polyester and an island component of a polyester black dope-dyed yarn to form a nonwoven fabric; wet-impregnating a polyurethane resin in the nonwoven fabric; eluting the sea component of the nonwoven fabric; dyeing and reduction-cleaning the nonwoven fabric from which the sea component is eluted; and performing in-bath flame-retardant treatment on the cleaned nonwoven fabric.

    Abstract: Provided herein is an eco-friendly artificial leather for an interior of an automobile and a manufacturing method thereof. The eco-friendly product is manufactured using a method that is compatible with various environmental regulations such as reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The artificial leather includes a bio urethane-containing skin surface layer which uses biomass-derived components extracted from vegetable components, a solvent-free bio urethane adhesive layer, and a bio fiber base layer. The layers are sequentially stacked to minimize the use of organic solvents and components that are harmful to the human body.

    Abstract: A method is provided for removing a volatile organic compound (VOC) contained in an artificial leather fabric and odor caused by the volatile organic compound by coating the artificial leather fabric with an adsorbent which reacts with a noxious substance containing the volatile organic compound (VOC); and immersing; washing; and drying the reacted artificial leather fabric. The method includes coating the adsorbent and immobilizing the volatile organic compound through a reaction, to prevent volatilization of the organic compound or reduce an amount thereof. Further, after the reaction between the artificial leather fabric and the adsorbent, the artificial leather fabric is washed, to remove the volatile organic compound immobilized on a surface of the fabric from the artificial leather.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a synthetic leather produced by directly coating a water-soluble synthetic resin solution on the surface of a fabric to form a film thereon such that fine gaps formed on the fabric are partially left open to have a certain degree of air permeability. In particular, a brushing process is used for brushing the surface of a fabric using a brushing machine to raise a nap. Next, a hydrolysis-resistant and flame-retardant resin solution is coated on the back of the fabric, which is opposite to the surface on which the nap is raised, to reinforce the back of the fabric. A film forming process then applies a water-soluble polyurethane resin solution to the nap raised on the surface of the fabric to form a film on the surface of the fabric thereby producing a synthetic leather product that has air permeability properties that are superior to genuine leather.

The method for anti-stain treatment of fabric includes: immersing fabric in an aqueous solution containing a telomerized perfluoroalkyl acrylate copolymer, and a crosslinking agent, such as an isocyanate crosslinking agent; dehydrating the immersed fabric; drying the dehydrated fabric; heat treating the dried fabric; and coating the heat-treated fabric with a flame retardant, such as an acrylic flame retardant, to provide flame retardancy. The method provides a car seat fabric having superior stain resistance, water repellency and oil repellency without degradation of other properties required for the car seat fabric, such as flame retardancy, lightfastness, frictional coloration, or the like. The method is widely applicable to commercially applicable car seat fabrics, including flat woven, flat tricot, double raschel, or the like.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method of fabricating an automotive seat cover leather. The method includes a preparing process, a tanning process, a neutralizing process, a retanning process, an elastic material adding process, a dyeing/fatliquoring process, and a surface fixing process. After the leather has gone through the tanning process and neutralizing process, the retanning process adds a tanning agent to the leather. The elastic material adding process adds a silicon-based elastic material to induce elasticity in the retanned leather. The dyeing/fatliquoring process adds a dye to the leather in which the elastic material has been added and adds an anion fatliquoring agent to the leather to provide flexibility. The surface fixing process fixes the elastic material, dye, and fatliquoring agent on and in the leather.
