    Abstract: Embodiments of an Antenna and Filter Unit (AFU) for an Advanced Antenna System (AAS) are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an AFU for an AAS comprises a first unit and a second unit. The first unit comprises a 1:N power splitter comprising an input coupled, directly or indirectly, to an antenna port of the AFU and N outputs, where N?2. The first unit also comprises N first board-to-board type connectors electrically connected to the N outputs of the 1:N power splitter, respectively. The second unit comprises N second board-to-board type connectors configured to be electrically coupled to the N first board-to-board type connectors, respectively, and N antenna elements coupled, directly or indirectly, to the N second board-to-board connectors, respectively. By positioning the 1:N power splitter prior to the N first and N second board-to-board type connectors, input power at each of the board-to-board type connectors is reduced, which thereby reduces Passive Intermodulation.

A tunable transmission line between the AntCal circuit and the calibration port includes at least one tuning screw configured to adjust a capacitance of the tunable transmission line to adjust a phase of signals transported by the tunable transmission line.     Abstract: Air cavity and ceramic waveguide resonator mixed filter solutions are disclosed. According to one aspect, a combined filter assembly includes an air cavity filter coupled to a ceramic waveguide (CWG) filter. The CWG filter exhibits a wall that presses against a rigid plate. Between the rigid plate and a wall of the air cavity filter is a compressible conductive gasket that is compressed between the wall of the air cavity filter and the rigid plate. The air cavity filter and the CWG filter are secured to a support base. The CWG filter is secured to the support base by flexible clamps that allow for thermal expansion of the CWG filter. The flexible clamps are secured to the support base by screws. The support base exhibits surfaces or walls that receive and anchor the screws.
