    Abstract: According to the present invention, a method for controlling a mobile terminal device is provided, wherein said device comprises a smartcard module and a near field communication module. In a first operation a smartcard operation on said mobile terminal device is started which results in an activation or switching on of said smartcard module. The smartcard application may be started by a user or based on the location of said mobile terminal device. That is the case for instance if the mobile terminal device is located in the area of a point of sales terminal, the smartcard application will automatically starts. Further, time controlled starting of certain applications is conceivable. Then it may be determined if said started smartcard application is an application for performing data transactions with external entities and in case of an affirmative determination a connection between said smartcard module and said NFC-module will be activated.

This data may comprise identification data of the user and/or the device (100), data concerning a requested validity of the ticket, data concerning the payment method and/or an optional reservation number. The ticket issuer (200) receives the request then transmits to the user a template, which the user then fills in before transmitting payment data, the completed template and the selected image from the user device (100) to the ticket issuer (200), as one or more SMS and/or MMS messages.

    Abstract: A method and system for conducting payments with a wireless terminal by a user in exchange for goods and services rendered by a merchant. In an embodiment of the invention, a Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) server for use with a WAP compliant terminal enables the user to browse merchants from a portal page over an HTTP connection. The user selects items for purchase in which payment to the merchant is initiated using the Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) protocol to a Server Wallet server. In one aspect of the invention, the user provides proof of identity and confirmation for the payment with a digital signature calculated by a Wireless Identity Module (WIM) operating with the wireless terminal. The Server Wallet, which retains sensitive financial information such as a payment card accounts e.g. credit cards numbers, carries out the payment transaction to the merchant on behalf of the user. The result of the transaction is returned to the user via standard secure WAP protocols.
