Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for creating a glass article having increased thermal resistive qualities, the method includes encasing mica and/or other minerals in between at least two pieces of interlay film which is positioned between two pieces of glass and baking the glass in a vacuum sealed heater at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time period. The method may also include positioning powder coating on a substrate, heating the substrate and powder coating to heat and melt the powder coating; and then positioning minerals on the substrate when the powder coating is hot, or optionally placing the powder coating over the minerals and heating the powder coating together with the minerals on the substrate. The invention also relates to the articles produced using the above processes.
