  • Publication number: 20240140060
Abstract: The folding-up system is intended to fold an end portion of a cylindrical wall of a tire carcass assembly around a reinforcing bead core. The system comprises a drive device that is arranged to cause the carcass assembly to revolve intermittently about its roll axis, by successive angular increments, together with a folding device to cause pressure rollers to tilt. After each angular increment in roll, about a pitch axis perpendicular to the roll axis, in order to fold each portion of the end section located in an angular working sector occupied by a pressure roller towards the radially inner face of the wall, around the reinforcing bead core. Finally, the drive device includes a selector for placing the pressure rollers in a withdrawn position to disengage the trajectory followed by the wall of the carcass assembly during its roll rotation.

  • Patent number: 10603856
Abstract: The curing press for a tire blank includes a frame and a plurality of circumferentially distributed segments which are capable of forming a tread for the tire. Each of the segments has at least one opening. For each segment, at least one tie rod is mounted slidably and rotatably in the opening of the segment on the one hand and hinged to the frame on the other hand. The mounting and hinging form the only connections of the tie rod to elements of the press other than the tie rod.

  • Publication number: 20190202156
Abstract: In this method for turning up the plies of a green tire, longitudinal and radial movements, with reference to a main axis (8) of the green tyre (3), of ply-turning arms (20) are brought about independently of one another in order to apply a rubber element to at least one sidewall (5) of the green tire (3). The radial movement of the arms is controlled by means of a speed setpoint.

  • Patent number: 10124550
Abstract: A tire vulcanizing device includes a vulcanization mold and a central part. The vulcanizing mold includes molding parts that defining a curing chamber therebetween. Inside the curing chamber is arranged a heating and ventilation apparatus structured for use with a heat-transfer fluid. The central part is structured to collaborate with the vulcanization mold by providing support to a heat-transfer fluid inlet and establishing communication between the heat-transfer fluid inlet and the curing chamber. The central part includes heating elements that are configured to be brought into operation before the heating and ventilation apparatus is brought into operation to cure a tire using the heat-transfer fluid.
