  • Patent number: 6143862
Abstract: Colpolyamides resulting from the polycondensation of a mixture of (a) dodecanelactam (L12) or of 12-aminododecanoic acid (A12) and of (b) 11-aminoundecanoic acid (A11) are characterized in that the monomer L12 or A12 represents 1 to 15% or 85 to 99% by weight of the mixture, and the copolyamides have melting points (mp) as a function of the composition, the units originating from the monomer A12 and L12 being in a majority or minority respectively:(1) A12 or L12 is a majority: mp (.degree. C.).gtoreq.176-0.567.times.(% A11)(2) A12 or L12 is a majority: mp (.degree.).gtoreq.187-0.5.times.(% A12 or L12),the melting points being determined by taking the peaks of the exotherm signals obtained in differential thermal analysis with a rate of heating of 10.degree. C./minute for the second heating run. Such copolyamides have a property of resilience at low temperature and a property of improved suppleness, especially when plasticizer is added to them.

  • Patent number: 6115901
Abstract: A breaking device for fracturing an unbroken brake disk in its mounted state. The breaking device has breaking or cutting irons which can be set on the brake disk.

Date of Patent: September 12, 2000
Assignee: Knorr-Bremse Systeme fur Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH
    Inventors: Michael Werth, Dieter Bieker
  • Patent number: 6027814
Abstract: The invention relates to a composition including (i) at least one polyamide and at least one copolymer (A) of ethylene with at least one comonomer chosen from unsaturated carboxylic acids, esters of unsaturated carboxylic acids or vinyl esters of saturated carboxylic acids and (ii) being in powder form. These compositions are subsequently deposited on metal substrates and then a highly corrosion-resistant coating is obtained by melting.

Date of Patent: February 22, 2000
    Assignee: Elf Atochem S.A.
Inventors: Olivier Julien, Michael Werth, Arnaud Tedoldi, Jean-Marc Sage
  • Patent number: 6011100
Abstract: The invention relates to a self-adhesive powder composition with improved resistance to creep, based on thermoplastic and/or heat-curable resins and acicular calcium carbonate. The composition is applied in powder form onto a metal substrate and then a creep-resistant coating is obtained by melting the powder.
