Patent number: 10007407Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided to detect incremental changes in clinical documents associated with a patient. A user selection is received indicating that a user wants to compare two or more clinical documents that are associated with the patient or authored by the same clinician, enabling the user to become up-to-date on the patient's care. A first clinical document and a second clinical document are identified. For the first clinical document and the second clinical document, differences are algorithmically determined. The first clinical document is transformed into a new representation of the first clinical document. Further, the second clinical document is transformed into a new representation of the second clinical document. One or more of the new representations of the first and the second clinical documents are displayed, assisting the user to quickly find and understand the differences between the documents.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2014Date of Patent: June 26, 2018Assignee: Cerner Innovation, Inc.Inventors: Thomas C. Publication number: 20150186616Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for generating a care plan for a patient related to a disease condition or a clinical event. Upon receiving a request for the care plan for the patient, a care plan template having a plurality of different sections is generated. A plurality of different care plans related to the disease condition or the clinical event is determined, and a first care plan is selected. Information from the first care plan is parsed based on the plurality of sections, and the parsed information is populated into the template. The populated template is communicated for presentation on a user interface. Methods, systems, and media herein are also directed to generating and displaying graphical depictions of a patient's care plans.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2014Publication date: July 2, 2015Inventors: MICHAEL A. Publication number: 20150012887Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-storage media are provided for searching a plurality of clinical documents associated with a patient. A searchable timeline is presented on a graphical user interface; the searchable timeline has a plurality of icons representing clinical documents created for the patient. The icons overlay the timeline at points in time corresponding to when the icon's respective document was created. Selection of an icon initiates the presentation of the icon's respective document. Preference and filter options enable a user to filter the clinical documents based on, for example, health concepts that have been identified for the patient.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2013Publication date: January 8, 2015Applicant: CERNER INNOVATION, INC.Inventors: MICHAEL A. Publication number: 20150012297Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-storage media are provided for enabling a user to dynamically create associations and take actions with respect to a clinical finding associated with a patient. After selecting a clinical finding that is of interest in a first workflow application, a graphical user interface is automatically presented. The graphical user interface includes trending information for the clinical finding as well as information related to the clinical finding. The graphical user interface enables a clinician to associate the clinical finding with a current patient problem or a possible diagnosis related to the clinical finding. Additionally, the graphical user interface enables the clinician to take actions with respect to the clinical finding.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2013Publication date: January 8, 2015Applicant: CERNER INNOVATION, INC.Inventors: MICHAEL A. Patent number: 8751251Abstract: Automatic triaging of patient information within a clinical computing environment is provided. Items of patient information are received, and each item is compared against predefined criteria to determine whether the item is time-sensitive. If an item satisfies a threshold of time-sensitivity, a key notification is provided for the item. A clinician may receive the key notification regardless of the view or application in which the clinician is working. The clinician may directly navigate from the key notification to the associated information, access additional information if necessary, and resolve the condition. Additionally, clinicians may control the triaging of information by specifying patient populations and thresholds required to trigger key notifications.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2006Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: Cerner Innovation, Inc.Inventors: Michael A.
