  • Publication number: 20240091640
Abstract: An approach is provided for a gaming overlay application to provide automatic in-game subtitles and/or closed captions for video game applications. The overlay application accesses an audio stream and a video stream generated by an executing game application. The overlay application processes the audio stream through a text conversion engine to generate at least one subtitle. The overlay application determines a display position to associate with the at least one subtitle. The overlay application generates a subtitle overlay comprising the at least one subtitle located at the associated display position. The overlay application causes a portion of the video stream to be displayed with the subtitle overlay.

  • Publication number: 20190227076
Abstract: A method of generating an inclusion list for targeted mass spectrometric analysis is disclosed. Experimentally-acquired data for a plurality of isobarically-labeled peptides derived by proteolytic digestion of a corresponding protein. The data includes, for each of the isobarically-labeled peptides, a mass-to-charge (m/z) ratio, a charge state, and a chromatographic retention time (RT). The method includes determining a hydrophobicity index (HI) of an unlabeled peptide corresponding to the isobarically-labeled peptide. If the determined HI is less than a threshold value, a substitute unlabeled peptide is selected in accordance with predetermined criteria and predicted properties for the substitute peptide are determined and stored on an inclusion list. If the determined HI for the unlabeled peptide is at least as great as the threshold value, predicted properties for the unlabeled peptide are determined and stored on an inclusion list.

  • Patent number: 9905405
Abstract: A method of generating an inclusion list for targeted mass spectrometric analysis is disclosed. Experimentally-acquired data for a plurality of isobarically-labeled peptides of interest is received at a computer. The data includes, for each of the isobarically-labeled peptides, a mass-to-charge (m/z) ratio, a charge state, and a chromatographic retention time. Predicted properties for a corresponding unlabeled peptide are determined via the computer. The predicted properties include a predicted m/z, a predicted charge state, and a predicted chromatographic retention time. The predicted properties for each corresponding unlabeled peptide are stored to the inclusion list. The predicted chromatographic retention time for the corresponding unlabeled peptide is determined based on hydrophobicity indices of the isobarically-labeled peptide and the corresponding unlabeled peptide, and chromatographic conditions for the targeted mass spectrometric analysis.

  • Patent number: 9803326
Abstract: A system providing environmentally friendly pathway tunnel utilizes a bottom configuration with multiple elongated beams and slots. One or more of the beams includes upstanding sedimentation members that are spaced apart along a span of the tunnel. • Publication number: 20070067489
Abstract: The present invention provides a method, system, and computer program product for routing sessions to a specific Uniform Resource Locator (URL) in a multi-site environment. An ordered list of servers is provided in a multi-site environment. Upon receipt of a session request submitted by a user, the ordered list of servers is looped through until a valid URL is found. When a valid URL is found, the session request is redirected to the server in the multi-site environment specified by the valid URL.

  • Publication number: 20060004726
Abstract: In a system and a method for processing a data request, a data request is received in an e-mail, text-message, or other format from a communication device. The request may be validated to ensure that the request is coming from an authorized user. The data request is translated into a query having a format understandable to a data storage system, and the query is submitted to the data storage system. A response to the query is received and translated into a translated response having a format understandable by the communication device. The translated response is transmitted to the communication device. A user of the communication device may pay a fee for receiving the translated response.

  • Patent number: 6912985
Abstract: The oil deflector apparatus can be installed in an internal combustion engine to deflect oil from gaskets mounted between an upper deck assembly and the engine block. The apparatus has a first portion that extends lengthwise along the upper deck assembly and includes mounting holes that accept mounting hardware to couple the apparatus to the engine block. A second portion is coupled lengthwise along the first portion and is angled downward to cover any exposed surface of the gasket from the internal oil generated by the engine operation. Layshaft support extensions are distributed lengthwise along the apparatus to permit the apparatus to fit around the layshaft support hardware in the engine and to keep oil splashed from the layshaft from reaching the gasket.

  • Patent number: 6270550
Abstract: A method for effecting direct reduction of iron oxides in the form of lumps or pellets, in which an ore burden is passed downwardly successively through prereduction and metallization zones of a shaft furnace while passing a flow of rich fuel gas produced by external partial combustion upwardly in counter current through the prereduction zone, and passing a flow of reducing gas in cocurrent though the metallization zone. The flow of reducing gas is an independent flow that has not been subject to external combustion, and an intermediate zone is provided forming a narrowed throat between the prereduction and metallization zones. The reducing gas is introduced at a boundary between the intermediate and metallization zones, such that passage of rich fuel gas from the prereduction zone to the metallization zone is inhibited. The gas flows should be controlled so that about 5% to 10% of the volume of reducing gas passes upwardly from the intermediate zone to the prereduction zone.

  • Patent number: 6005658
Abstract: Described is a method and a system for detecting the arterial oxygen saturation of hemoglobin (also called blood oxygenation, SpO2 or SaO2 measuring), comprising a measuring device for performing a blood oxygenation measurement and a controller unit. The measuring device is controllable by the controller unit so that the blood oxygenation measurement can be performed non-continuously. In a first step the measuring device is powered on, in a second step the blood oxygenation measurement is performed, and in a third step the measuring device or parts thereof are powered down, whereby the three steps are repeatable periodically. This provides SpO2 measurement applicable in telemetric or handhold instruments. The system is preferably used in telemetric or handhold instruments.

  • Patent number: 5894023
Abstract: Apparatus of injection molding three-layer moldings, especially bottle blanks with an inner and an outer layer of polyethylene terephthalate and a middle layer of recycled polyethylene terephthalate, employing a mold with several cavities. The material (component A) for the inner and outer layers is supplied through one molten-component conveying channel and the material (component B) for the middle layer through another molten-component conveying channel. The channels are separately heated and their temperatures independently regulated. The melt for component A flows the same distance as the melt for component B. The melts flow into the injection-molding dies such as to ensure a uniform front.

  • Patent number: 4161344
Abstract: A mounting for a load rotating or oscillating about a vertical axis comprises a stationary annular support member centered on that axis and provided with inner and outer peripheral guide tracks engaged by two rotatable annular carrier members, either the stationary member or the rotatable members being split along a horizontal plane for positive interfitting. A load-carrying platform overlying the three coaxial members is separated from the stationary member and from one of the carrier members while being secured to the other carrier member through the intermediary of an interposed spacer for rotary entrainment thereof. The spacer, in the form of a multiplicity of ring segments, can be transferred to the previously idle rotatable member upon excessive wear of the guide track associated with the carrier member previously entrained.
