Abstract: A method for fabricating an xMR magnetic field sensor with at least one xMR sensor element from a workpiece containing an xMR multilayer system, including a magnetically hard reference layer with a reference magnetization direction. The method involves a programming operation to set or modify the reference magnetization direction in a sensor region by locally heating the reference layer beyond a threshold temperature using laser radiation, exposing the heated region to an external magnetic field to set the reference magnetization direction, and subsequently cooling the region. The laser processing operation employs a mask projection technique, where a mask with at least one aperture is irradiated with laser pulses, and the fully illuminated aperture region is imaged onto the processing plane using an imaging lens.

  • Patent number: 11553960
Abstract: Methods for treating hypertension and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. One aspect of the present technology, for example, is directed to methods for therapeutic renal neuromodulation that partially inhibit sympathetic neural activity in renal nerves proximate a renal blood vessel of a human patient having a 24-hour heart rate at or above a median heart rate for a population of hypertensive patients. This reduction in sympathetic neural activity is expected to therapeutically treat one or more conditions associated with hypertension of the patient. Renal sympathetic nerve activity can be modulated, for example, using an intravascularly positioned catheter carrying a neuromodulation assembly, e.g., a neuromodulation assembly configured to use electrically-induced, thermally-induced, and/or chemically-induced approaches to modulate the renal nerves.

  • Patent number: 7207027
Abstract: The present invention relates to a graphical user interface for a system that compiles MATLAB models for synthesis into register transfer level code. The graphical user interface provides a visual representation of the design in a manner that allows the user to more easily understand the algorithm being modeled. From this interface, the user may also modify the type, size and dimensions of variables from dialog boxes. The system allows the user to efficiently compare and verify a fixed-point design versus the MATLAB design. The interface allows the user to then make further changes to the design, or synthesize the design into a register transfer level file.
