Abstract: A management system for a worldwide digital library provides for the unfettered distribution of copyright-free materials while protecting and enforcing owner's rights with respect to the distribution of copyright-protected works. End users with local devices operating with trusted computing environments, which can limit the further storage or use of delivered materials, can be granted access to the copyright-protected works under the conditions set by the owners.
