  • Publication number: 20060048996
Abstract: A compressor muffler includes a housing having an inlet end and an outlet end. A baffle arrangement extends from an interior surface of the housing. The baffle arrangement includes a surface capable of reflecting compressed fluid to attenuate noise. A valve assembly is disposed inside the baffle arrangement. The valve assembly is positionable between a first position and a second position. The valve assembly also includes a valve surface that at least partially prevents flow of fluid through the housing from the outlet end when the valve assembly is in the first position.

Abstract: According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, a folding storage assembly includes a first panel is pivotally connected to a second panel. In addition, a third panel is pivotally connected to the first panel. Flexible side panels are attached to the pivoting panels. The folding storage assembly is movable between an in-use position and a stowed position. Moreover, the storage assembly may include at least one fastening member for fastening the assembly to a bracket which is adapted to be secured to a lumber cart. Therefore, the invention provides a folding storage assembly that can easily be fastened to a cart and can be secured in an open or stowed position to accommodate the needs of a shopper and will not allow small articles to fall out of the assembly.

  • Publication number: 20050191174
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a fan and in some aspects to an impeller with increased performance or efficiency. The fan according to some embodiments of the present invention has a housing, an impeller, and a motor driving the impeller. The impeller can be manufactured and/or arranged within the housing to make the fan more efficient under certain operating conditions. In some embodiments, the impeller is equipped with blades having a non-constant radius of curvature. In other embodiments, the impeller is equipped with two sets of blades, which include primary blades and secondary blades. These blades can be offset from each other to increase performance. In yet other embodiments, the space between the secondary blades and the housing can be manipulated to increase performance. Additionally, other embodiments adjust the cross-sectional shape of the flow path through the impeller to increase performance.

  • Publication number: 20050186070
Abstract: The axial fan assembly according to some embodiments of the present invention has a shroud, a motor coupled to the shroud, and a fan coupled to the motor. By employing selected vane-to-blade ratios, blade twist angles, blade pitch angles, blade-to-shroud axial gaps, shroud solidities, vane swept angles, and vane inlet and outlet angles of specified amounts or falling within specified ranges, desirable fan performance is achieved. Any one or more of these parameters can be utilized alone or in combination with other parameters as desired.

  • Publication number: 20050084045
Abstract: An iterative method (400) and apparatus (200) for a receiver for reducing interference in a desired signal in a GSM communication system uses a finite-impulse-response filter combined with alternate quadrature component output selection for alternate linear equalization are disclosed The method includes inputting a burst of data of a received waveform including interference, training an alternate linear output filter with a midamble of known quadrature phase, providing an estimate of the desired signal by operating on the received waveform with the finite-impulse-response filter, generating log likelihood ratio estimates for a plurality of bits in the burst of data, selecting bits from the burst of data base upon a predetermined condition, and re-training the alternate linear output filter to provide a second improved estimate of the desired signal.

  • Publication number: 20050084040
Abstract: A method of modulation detection. A signal is received. A first decision statistic can be generated based on the received signal. The received signal can be transformed. A second decision statistic can be generated based on the transformed received signal. A selected modulation type can be determined based on comparing the first decision statistic with the second decision statistic.

  • Publication number: 20040177333
Abstract: A configurable metal register of an integrated circuit that allows a register output value to be changed by changing any metal or any contact within a metal pattern solution of the register. More than one metal and/or corresponding contact within the metal pattern solution may be changed so that the register output value is correspondingly changed.

  • Publication number: 20040170597
Abstract: An adhesive including a mixture of isocyanate capped molecules formed by reacting multi-isocyanate functional molecules with multi-functional precursor molecules including terminal functional groups selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, a primary amino group and a secondary amino group. Preferably, the functional groups are hydroxyl groups. The multi-functional precursor compounds are biocompatible. Multi-aminc functional precursors of the multi-isocyanate functional molecules are also biocompatible. As discussed, above, the mixture of molecules preferably has an average isocyanate functionality of at least 2.1 and, more preferably, has an average isocyanate functionality of at least 2.5. As also described above, the mixture of molecules preferably has a viscosity in the range of approximately 1 to approximately 100 centipoise. The mixture of molecules forms a crosslinked polymer network upon contact with the organic tissue in the presence of water.

  • Patent number: 5787494
Abstract: The present invention provides a software-assisted hardware TLB miss-handler which is designed to reduce the TLB miss penalty while being low cost to implement and requiring little chip area or complexity. When a TLB miss occurs, the HW TLB miss handler of the present invention computes a physical address of a page table entry located in a special hardware-visible table based on a missing virtual address. It accesses the page table entry and checks for a correct translation and status information. If correct, a physical page address and protection information of the page table entry are inserted into the TLB. The original virtual address is re-translated and normal program execution continues. If the correct translation and status are not found, the HW TLB miss-handler will not insert the entry and will trap to a more sophisticated SW TLB miss handler. A pointer to the page table entry is passed to the SW TLB miss handler so that the page table address need not be recomputed.

  • Patent number: 5603004
Abstract: A cache system buffers data stored in a main memory and utilized by a processor. The cache system includes a first cache, a second cache, a first transfer channel, a second transfer channel and a third transfer channel. The first cache is fully associative. The second cache is directly mapped. The first transfer channel transfers data lines from the main memory to the first cache. The second transfer channel transfers data lines from the first cache to the second cache. The third transfer channel transfers data lines from the second cache to the main memory. Accesses of data lines from the first cache and the second cache are performed in parallel.
