Publication number: 20240111450Abstract: A computer-implemented method for effectively delivering notifications in data storage environments includes, receiving, by a storage controller from a host system, a request to register the host system with the storage controller to receive notifications. These notifications may be associated with a selected type of event detected by the storage controller. In certain embodiments, the selected type of event is a space-related condition associated with a particular storage resource controlled by the storage controller. The computer-implemented method registers the host system with the storage controller. In response to detecting an event of the selected type on the storage controller, the computer-implemented method transmits a notification from the storage controller to the host system to provide notice of the event. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2022Publication date: April 4, 2024Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Beth Ann Peterson, Matthew Richard Craig, John G. Patent number: 11938329Abstract: Implantable medical devices include circuitry positioned adjacent to header-related structures, rather than having the header and related structures sitting atop the position of the circuitry within a device housing. A circuit board within the device housing may be positioned adjacently to a lead bore of the header. Feedthrough conductors may extend from the circuitry to conductors of the header while being positioned adjacently to the circuit board. Lead frame conductors may extend to the electrical connectors of the lead bores while also being adjacent to the upper portion of the circuitry. Device height may be reduced by having the circuitry be positioned adjacent to one or more of the various header-related structures.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Medtronic, Inc.Inventors: Steven Deininger, Jeffrey Clayton, Michael Baade, Anthony Chasensky

Patent number: 11918185Abstract: A method of preparing a robotic surgery apparatus for a medical procedure can include covering a manipulator unit of the robotic surgery apparatus with a first sterile barrier by coupling a drape coupler of the first sterile barrier to a bottom surface of the manipulator unit and wrapping a drape of the first sterile barrier around side and top surfaces of the manipulator unit. The drape can be coupled to the drape coupler. The drape can be made of material that is more flexible than material of the drape coupler. The method can include covering an arm of the robotic surgery apparatus supporting the manipulator unit with a second sterile barrier that is distinct from the first sterile barrier by coupling the second sterile barrier to the arm and wrapping the second sterile barrier around the arm.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2021Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Titan Medical Inc.Inventors: Perry A. Patent number: 11831775Abstract: Systems and techniques are described to facilitate using secure tokens for stateless software defined networking. An initial configuration may be created for deploying a network device at a deployment site. A cryptographically secure certificate may be created that includes the initial configuration for deploying the network device at the deployment site. The cryptographically secure certificate may be stored in a secure token that can be inserted into a secure token reader that is located at the deployment site and communicatively coupled to the device at the deployment site. The network device may then be configured at the deployment site by using the secure token.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2022Date of Patent: November 28, 2023Assignee: Riverbed Technology, LLCInventors: Robert Walter Schumann, III, Donald Bradley Wood, Marlin Popeye McFate, Michael Clayton Rudd, Mircea I. Publication number: 20230144822Abstract: A method of manufacturing a metallic part in a weldable material by solid freeform fabrication comprising generating three dimensional model of the part, slicing the three dimensional model into a set of parallel, sliced layers and then dividing each layer into a set of one-dimensional pieces and, with reference to layered weld-bead geometry data, forming a computer-generated, direction specific, layered model of the part. The method also comprises uploading the layered model into a welding control system and directing the welding control system to deposit a sequence of one-dimensional weld beads of the weldable material onto the supporting substrate in a pattern required to form a first layer of the layered model and depositing a second welded layer onto the previous deposited layer in a configuration the same as the second layer, and repeating each successive weld bead until the entire part is completed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2022Publication date: May 11, 2023Inventor: Andrew Michael Clayton SALES

Publication number: 20170368635Abstract: The invention provides an economical laser welding method for joining two metal materials with a fillet joint. The method reliably compensates for tolerances between the two materials and can be used in various light conditions and production environments. In addition, the method does not require additional equipment for purposes of seam tracking. Instead, the method includes oscillating a laser beam, for example in a “figure 8” pattern, while moving the laser beam laterally along an interface between the two materials. The width of the fillet joint is increased compared to the fillet joint that would be formed using a non-oscillating laser beam, and thus compensates for the tolerances. The width of the fillet joint depends on the oscillation amplitude of the laser beam, rather than the beam size.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2016Publication date: December 28, 2017Inventors: Florian HANSCHMANN, Jonathan Michael CLAYTON, Scott GARNER
