  • Patent number: 7621411
Abstract: A cap assembly for closing a container. The cap assembly has: (i) an undercap having a cap body with a top end (or wall) and with at least one endless side wall depending from the top end (or wall) to form a housing for receiving the neck of a container; (ii) an overcap having an overcap body with a top end and with at least one endless side wall depending from the top end to form a housing for receiving and engaging the (cap body of the) undercap; and (iii) an applicator having a stem with a first end for engagement with, or integrally formed with, the undercap within the housing, so that the stem projects from the housing, and a second free end for applying product. The exterior of the undercap body has a series of circumferentially arranged teeth for interengagement with a corresponding series of circumferentially arranged teeth within the housing of the overcap.

  • Patent number: 6874665
Abstract: The invention is a nozzle assembly (3, 20) with a re-useable break off cap (20) for dispensing a product from a container (1). On a dispensing end (5) of the nozzle (3) a break-off cap (20) is integrally formed thereon and closes off the dispensing end (5) of the nozzle (3). The break-off cap (20) is removable by breaking a frangible connection (22) between the nozzle (3) and the break-off cap (20). Removing the break-off cap opens the dispensing end (5) of the nozzle (3) thereby allowing product to be dispensed through the nozzle (3). The break-off cap (20) removed from the nozzle (3) can then be re-engaged with the nozzle (3) to close off the dispensing end (5) thereby preventing further product from being dispensed. The cap can be attached to or removed from the nozzle (3) as often as a user requires. The invention also includes packaging which includes a tray (111) or pouch into which the nozzle assembly (3, 20) and container (1) can be inserted.

  • Publication number: 20030172987
Abstract: A spreadable adhesive composition and an applicator (1) for dispensing a spreadable viscous adhesive composition onto a substrate. The spreadable adhesive composition is a spreadable non-flowable cyanoacrylate adhesive composition which contains an odour masking ingredient compatible with the composition. The composition is intended to be spread by the applicator (1). The applicator (1) for spreading the composition includes a closed head (5) with a sealable dispensing aperture (9) penetrating the head (5). A spreading surface (19) is located on the exterior of the head (5) around the dispensing aperture (9) and is used to spread the adhesive onto the substrate. A conduit or delivery means (7) is also provided to supply the adhesive composition to the dispensing aperture (9). The applicator (1) can also include a cap (2) which fits over and covers the head (5).
