  • Patent number: 9007143
Abstract: An improved implementation of a 2×4 divider formed from a bridge junction is described. The bridge junction uses parallel and series connections of coaxial lines to eliminate impedance transformers that are normally required in a 2×4 power divider. In a preferred embodiment, the bridge junction is comprised of UT-085 coax transmission lines, 20 gauge twin lead wire and SB-805-61 ferrite beads with ½ turn windings to provide a wide bandwidth, compact, high power and rugged arrangement.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 27, 2012
Date of Patent: April 14, 2015
    Assignee: Toyon Research Corporation
Inventors: Michael A. Gilbert, Kevin C. Higgins, Andrew I. Hamill
  • Patent number: 8672542
Abstract: A thermistor amplifier device comprising a first amplifier and a second amplifier is provided. The first amplifier generates an analog temperature signal output based on a voltage across at least one thermistor. The second amplifier generates an offset voltage input to the first amplifier, wherein the offset voltage is based on maintaining the analog temperature signal within a predefined voltage range. The second amplifier selects the offset voltage corresponding to one of a plurality of range levels, wherein each of the plurality of range levels is associated with a temperature range of the at least one thermistor.

  • Patent number: 7939766
Abstract: An apparatus for electrically shielding electronic components is provided. The apparatus includes a circuit board having a first surface with a plurality of electronic components mounted on the first surface, the first surface having a first region and a second region. The circuit board comprises a ground plane and a trace on the first surface coupled to at least one electronic component in the first region and coupled to at least one electronic component in the second region. The circuit board also comprising a strip of conductive material on the first surface, the strip of conductive material forming a perimeter around the first region of the circuit board, the strip of conductive material coupled to the ground plane, the strip of conductive material defining at least one gap wherein the trace is oriented through the at least one gap. Additionally, a first filtering device is coupled to the trace on a first side of the gap.

  • Patent number: 4495504
Abstract: A reflector type radio frequency antenna having: a feed for producing a difference radiation pattern with a cone-shaped null region; and, a reflector having a surface disposed to reflect a portion of the energy in the difference radiation pattern and having the edge disposed in the cone-shaped null region. With such arrangement, since the edge of the reflector is disposed in the null region of the difference radiation pattern such edge is not radiated with energy which could otherwise illuminate such edge, scatter, and thereby generate unwanted side lobes in the free space antenna pattern.
