  • Patent number: 9615903
Abstract: A device having a catheter and a hub which facilitates the transfer of an embryo containing solution into the uterus of a mammal, for example, a small mammal such as a rat or mouse. The catheter's shape and tip is designed to simplify insertion and minimize injury to the mammal. The hub is designed to further control the insertion of the catheter and to interface with a pipette, for example, that provides the force required for the transfer of an embryo containing solution. As a result, the transfer can occur without requiring surgery.

  • Patent number: 6775787
Abstract: In an embodiment, an apparatus includes a memory to include at least one power value associated with at least one instruction. The at least one power value indicating an amount of power required to execute the at least one associated instruction by the apparatus. The apparatus also includes an instruction scheduler to receive the at least one power value and the at least one instruction. The instruction scheduler is to schedule the at least one instruction for execution by at least one functional unit based on the at least one associated power value.

  • Patent number: 6059976
Abstract: The present invention is a process for reclaiming and recycling oil/water mixtures. These mixtures are preferably hot or cold rolling oils for aluminum manufacturing operations. When used, the rolling oils contain organometallic particles and have less constituents than the unused oils. The present process enables the valuable portion of the oil to be reused by passing through an acid wash and a reconstitution process.

  • Patent number: 5131488
Abstract: Apparatus is described for placement in a borehole in the earth, which enables the generation of closely controlled seismic waves from the borehole. Pure torsional shear waves are generated by an apparatus which includes a stator element fixed to the borehole walls and a rotor element which is electrically driven to rapidly oscillate on the stator element to cause reaction forces transmitted through the borehole walls to the surrounding earth. Logitudinal shear waves are generated by an armature that is driven to rapidly oscillate along the axis of the borehole relative to a stator that is clamped to the borehole, to cause reaction forces transmitted to the surrounding earth. Pressure waves are generated by electrically driving pistons that press against opposite ends of a hydraulic reservoir that fills the borehole. High power is generated by energizing the elements at a power level that causes heating to over 150.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4384436
Abstract: A combination of a hurricane shutter and security grill intended for use in conjunction with a window of a commercial or residential building. The security grill comprises metallic bars of various shapes and dimensions which are combined in distinctive patterns in order to enhance the appearance of the building while allowing minimum obstruction to light rays. The security grill is located squarely in front of the window on the exterior side by means of ornamental brackets which are fixed to the longitudinal boundaries of the security grill and the structural side of the building. L-shaped brackets with functional or ornamental facing are fastened to the top and bottom latitudinal bars and provide channels to facilitate the insertion of a shutter board which completely encloses the security grill and the guarded window.
