  • Publication number: 20120297661
Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for improved operation and functionality of a spring-loaded mousetrap. The improved mousetrap comprises two hooks in place of the standard trigger for engaging a Cheerio. Alternative embodiments comprise alligator clips. The mousetrap is baited with a Cheerio, and primed by using the Cheerio and hooks or alligator clips to hold down the locking lever of the mousetrap. When the Cheerio is nibbled by a mouse, the Cheerio breaks with tensile force applied by the primed locking lever, and the jaw snaps forward, killing the mouse.

  • Patent number: 8191410
Abstract: A mechanical drive train for testing a full scale compressor rig is disclosed. The drive train can include an electric motor, a gear box, and a gas turbine. The compressor rig is coupled to the drive train between the gear box and gas turbine. The drive train can further include a torque converter for transferring torque from the electric motor to the compressor rig. The drive train is configured to test a full scale compressor rig over the entire speed and load operating range, allowing for full compressor mapping from choke to stall at full load, part load (power turn down) and partial speed conditions. The drive train can also be used to test a compressor rig or gas turbine over the full range of operability for the compressor rig or gas turbine without having to connect the gas turbine to the power grid at the power generation site.

  • Publication number: 20110137273
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fecal management system for collecting fecal matter from the rectum. The system comprises a first fecal receiving bag and a second fecal receiving bag having an elongated section extending in a flow direction between a second proximal opening and a reservoir section, wherein the first fecal receiving bag and the second fecal receiving bag are connectable to each other. This provides a fecal management system that is adaptable to the user; e.g. the first fecal receiving bag can be produced as a compact and portable device, which allows for the user to move around as fecal matter will be collected in the first fecal receiving bag and thereby avoiding any embarrassing accidents; and when the user lies in bed the second fecal receiving bag can be coupled to the first fecal receiving bag, which allows for additional capacity for collecting e.g. nightly stools.

  • Publication number: 20110121982
Abstract: Signaling methods and apparatuses are described for preventing flood irrigation water from overflowing in a trench, field, or other area. Signaling devices may include indicators such as a reflector, a flag, a light, or a sound device provided on an end of an elongate member having its opposite end engaged with the ground. A stake is driven into the ground near the elongate member in the trench or other area where water will flow. A breakaway link such as a strip of paper is engaged to either the indicator or the elongate member and also to the stake, causing the elongate member to be bent downward, with the breakaway link located in the trench where water will flow. When exposed to the flow of water, the breakaway link weakens and eventually tears such that the elongate member springs upward carrying the indicator with it, signaling an operator that water has reached that location in the trench.

  • Patent number: 7933466
Abstract: A method of gray value correction for binary image data, preferably screened image data, with a local gray value by a desired correction magnitude includes filtering the image data quantized with n bits with an asymmetrical low-pass filter whose filter window is smaller than a screen cell. By a threshold value operation, corrected binary image data is obtained from the filtered image data. Optimum threshold values are selected from a threshold value table as a function of the local gray value and of the desired correction magnitude.

  • Publication number: 20100217214
Abstract: An arrangement for connecting fecal receiving bags together is provided. The arrangement provides for a simple coupling arrangement, which provides fluid communication between the bags while preventing odor and fluid to leak form the coupling. Such a coupling arrangement between two receiving devices or bags is discreet and comfortable to wear as the coupling members follow the extent of the receiving devices. They are furthermore capable of extending parallel to the first and second plane of the receiving devices and thereby reduce the extent to which the coupling members bulge out. A method for connecting fecal receiving bags into a coupling arrangement is also provided.
