  • Patent number: 10691662
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a data analysis system for analyzing data object collections that include geo-temporal data is provided. One or more temporal granularities are specified for the purpose of generating a geo-temporal data index. The time granularities correspond to temporal ranges expected to correspond to temporal ranges specified in user queries against the data. One or more temporal index bucket groups are generated based on to the specified time granularities. Geo-temporal input data is indexed based on the generated temporal index bucket groups. The system allows a data analyst to specify geo-temporal queries that include both geospatial component and a temporal component. The system transforms geo-temporal queries into one or more second queries that retrieve data items based on the temporal index bucket groups.

  • Publication number: 20200192921
Abstract: A user can request suggestions for text to insert at a position in an electronic input document. A set of annotations is obtained from the input document and contextual information associated with the document. A set of candidate texts from source documents are identified for the suggested text and evaluated. Each evaluation may indicate a likelihood that the corresponding candidate text is suitable to insert at the requested position of the input document. One or more of the candidate texts are presented to the client device as the suggested text to insert at the requested position of the electronic document.

  • Publication number: 20200176858
Abstract: A planar reflectarray system provides for bandwidth broadening by employing a tunable (amplitude and phase) feed array. The tunable feed array is adjustable in amplitude and phase to compensate for aberrations by enabling feed re-focusing and field matching. The techniques modestly increase the size of the feed array and use active tuning to effectively correct for de-focusing when operating reflectarrays at frequencies away from the tuned center frequency.

  • Publication number: 20200115643
Abstract: An ebullated bed hydroprocessing system is upgraded using a dual catalyst system that includes a heterogeneous catalyst and dispersed metal sulfide particles, which permits recycling of vacuum bottoms without recycle buildup of asphaltenes. The dual catalyst system more effectively converts asphaltenes in the ebullated bed reactor and increases asphaltene conversion by an amount that at least offsets higher asphaltene concentration resulting from recycling of vacuum bottoms. In this way, there is no recycle buildup of asphaltenes in upgraded ebullated bed reactor notwithstanding recycling of vacuum bottoms. In addition, residual dispersed metal sulfide catalyst particles in the vacuum bottoms can maintain or increase the concentration of the dispersed metal sulfide catalyst in the ebullated bed reactor.

  • Patent number: 10615507
Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) landing marker that absorbs incoming radar signals emitted by a UAV and/or disperses reflected radar signals. The absorption and/or dispersion of the radar signals creates a reduced radar return in comparison to the environment about the landing marker. The UAV can detect the area of reduced radar return and determine that it is a landing marker. Additionally, the UAV can determine a position of the landing marker relative to the UAV, based on the reduced radar return, to effect delivery of an item by the UAV. The landing marker can include materials, structures and/or features to absorb and/or disperse radar signals to cause the reduced radar return.

  • Patent number: 10600503
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a platform (e.g., Web-based) that enables basic and clinical research activities by integrating patient characteristics and clinical outcome data with a variety of high-throughput research data in a unified environment. While several rich data repositories for high dimensional research data exist in the public domain, most focus on a single data type and do not support integration across multiple technologies. The present invention in at least one embodiment includes a broad collection of bioinformatics and systems biology tools for analysis and visualization of four major “omics” types: DNA, mRNA, microRNA, and metabolites, as well as next-generation sequencing. The present invention helps facilitate systems medicine by providing easy identification of trends and patterns in integrated datasets and hence facilitate the use of better targeted therapies for cancer.

  • Patent number: 10583734
Abstract: A transfer case for a normally rear wheel drive vehicle with selective four wheel drive capabilities is provided. The transfer case has an intermediate gear driven lubrication pump, wherein the machining required for the lubrication pump is almost exclusively conducted from an interior side of the rear shell. The transfer case of the present invention also eliminates the requirement for a cover plate for the pump and an external lubrication tube. The transfer case of the current invention has an internal lubrication pump outlet which has a portion extending in a reinforcing mound of the rear shell thereby providing greater stiffness to a portion of the rear shell supporting the main input shaft rear bearings.

  • Patent number: 10583530
Abstract: A component is fabricated in a powder bed by moving a laser array across the powder bed. The laser array includes a plurality of laser devices. The power output of each laser device of the plurality of laser devices is independently controlled. The laser array emits a plurality of energy beams from a plurality of selected laser devices of the plurality of laser devices to generate a melt pool in the powder bed. A non-uniform energy intensity profile is generated by the plurality of selected laser devices. The non-uniform energy intensity profile facilitates generating a melt pool that has a predetermined characteristic.

  • Patent number: 10573149
Abstract: Methods and systems for generating escape routes are provided. With a home owner's or insured's permission, a smart home controller or insurance provider remote processor may analyze data received from a plurality of smart devices disposed on, within, or proximate to a home, as well as data received from an insurance provider. If it is determined that an emergency situation necessitating an evacuation exists, the smart home controller or insurance provider remote processor may automatically generate escape routes to guide occupants to safety. The smart home controller may then transmit the generated escape routes to inform occupants of emergency situation and how to reach safety. The smart home controller and/or insurance provider may also issue commands to smart devices to ensure the safety of the generated escape routes. Insurance policies, premiums, or discounts may be adjusted based upon the escape route determination functionality.

  • Patent number: 10573146
Abstract: The present embodiments relate to detecting instances of individuals being in peril within an independent or assisted living environment. According to certain aspects, with an individual's permission or affirmative consent, a hardware controller (such as a smart or interconnected home controller, or even a mobile device) may receive and analyze sensor data detected within the independent or assisted living environment to determine whether an individual may be in peril. In this circumstance, the hardware controller may generate a notification that indicates the situation and may communicate the notification to a proper individual, such as a family member or care giver, who may be in a position to mitigate or alleviate any risks posed by the situation. The foregoing functionality also may be used by an insurance provider to generate, update, or adjust insurance policies, premiums, rates, or discounts, and/or make recommendations to an insured individual.
