  • Publication number: 20140250106
Abstract: A disclosure provides techniques for generating search results containing state links to applications. A method includes receiving a query containing one or more query parameters from a remote computing device and identifying a set of third party applications corresponding to the one or more query parameters. For each third party application, the method includes transmitting at least a subset of the one or more query parameters to a server associated with the third party application, receiving a response from the server associated with the third party application, and generating a state link to a native application version of the third party application based on the response. • Patent number: 8818892
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for prioritizing a plurality of clusters. Prioritizing clusters may generally include identifying a scoring strategy for prioritizing the plurality of clusters. Each cluster is generated from a seed and stores a collection of data retrieved using the seed. For each cluster, elements of the collection of data stored by the cluster are evaluated according to the scoring strategy and a score is assigned to the cluster based on the evaluation. The clusters may be ranked according to the respective scores assigned to the plurality of clusters. The collection of data stored by each cluster may include financial data evaluated by the scoring strategy for a risk of fraud. The score assigned to each cluster may correspond to an amount at risk.

  • Publication number: 20140214898
Abstract: In one embodiment, a search query is received from a computing device, the search query including one or more search terms. Based on the one or more search terms, one or more entities are identified from a set of multiple entities. Each of the one or more identified entities is associated with one or more application functionalities. In addition, a set of applications are identified based on the one or more search terms. Based at least on a type of at least one of the identified one or more entities, a determination is made that a particular application from the set of applications supports the at least one of the identified one or more entities. Thereafter, the applications in the set are ranked based in part on the determination that the particular application supports the at least one of the identified one or more entities.

  • Patent number: 8788407
Abstract: In various embodiments, systems, methods, and techniques are disclosed for generating a collection of clusters of related data from a seed. Seeds may be generated based on seed generation strategies or rules. Clusters may be generated by, for example, retrieving a seed, adding the seed to a first cluster, retrieving a clustering strategy or rules, and adding related data and/or data entities to the cluster based on the clustering strategy. Various cluster scores may be generated based on attributes of data in a given cluster. Further, cluster metascores may be generated based on various cluster scores associated with a cluster. Clusters may be ranked based on cluster metascores. Various embodiments may enable an analyst to discover various insights related to data clusters, and may be applicable to various tasks including, for example, tax fraud detection, beaconing malware detection, malware user-agent detection, and/or activity trend detection, among various others.

  • Patent number: 8788405
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating a collection of clusters of related data from a seed. Doing so may generally include retrieving a seed and adding the seed to a first cluster and include retrieving a cluster strategy referencing one or more data bindings. Each data binding specifies a search protocol for retrieving data. For each of the one or more data bindings, data parameters input to the search protocol are identified, the search protocol is performed using the identified data parameters, and data returned by the search protocol is evaluated for inclusion in the first cluster.

  • Publication number: 20130172907
Abstract: Method and system for navigated medical procedures includes a transmitter array having at least three ultrasound transmitters and at least one optical transmitter, and a receiver array having at least three ultrasound receivers and at least one optical receiver. In each transmission, the optical transmitter and only one ultrasound transmitter transmit signals. Distance measurements between each ultrasound transmitter and each ultrasound receiver are calculated based on time delays between reception of signals transmitted in each transmission and a speed of sound. A three-dimensional location of a transmitter relative to a receiver, or vice versa, is determined from at least three calculated distance measurements. Placement of the transmitter or receiver array on a surgical tool, a medical implant or instrument, or a part or point in or on a patient's body, or other object used in the medical procedure, enables the three-dimensional location thereof to be viewed on a display.

  • Patent number: 8433702
Abstract: Values that occur above a threshold frequency for certain characteristic(s) of a data set are identified. A limited number of count buckets are allocated based on the threshold. Buckets store proxy counts for identifying candidate sets of values rather than actual counts. The data set is divided and each portion is analyzed separately, by iterating through each item in that portion. During each iteration, depending on an item's value(s), a bucket is incremented, all buckets are decremented, or a bucket is assigned or reassigned to count different value(s). A candidate set of values and associated counts is selected for a portion based on the buckets. The candidate sets for each portion are merged and, in some embodiments, filtered based on the associated counts. Actual frequencies are then determined for the values that remain in the merged candidate set.

  • Patent number: 8421372
Abstract: There is provided a lighting control circuit comprising a duty cycle detection circuit, an averaging circuit, a waveform generator and a comparator circuit. The duty cycle detection circuit generates a first periodic waveform having a duty cycle and frequency corresponding to an input waveform duty cycle and frequency. The averaging circuit generates a first signal having a voltage level corresponding to the duty cycle of the first periodic waveform. The waveform generator outputs a second periodic waveform having a frequency different from the input waveform frequency. The comparator circuit compares the second periodic waveform with the first signal to generate an output waveform having a duty cycle corresponding to the input waveform duty cycle and a frequency corresponding to the frequency of the second periodic waveform. Also, there are provided methods.
