    Abstract: Methods of forming semiconductor-superconductor hybrid devices with a horizontally-confined channel are described. An example method includes forming a first isolated semiconductor heterostructure and a second isolated semiconductor heterostructure. The method further includes forming a left gate adjacent to a first side of each of the first isolated semiconductor heterostructure and the second isolated semiconductor heterostructure. The method further includes forming a right gate adjacent to a second side, opposite to the first side, of each of the first isolated semiconductor heterostructure and the second isolated semiconductor heterostructure, where a top surface of each of the left gate and the right gate is offset vertically from a selected surface of each of the first isolated semiconductor heterostructure and the second isolated semiconductor heterostructure by a predetermined offset amount.

    Abstract: A self-service kiosk includes a housing and an imaging device in a key fob receptacle in the housing. The imaging device captures an image of a master key fob placed in the receptacle. The kiosk includes a key fob dispenser having a dispensing slot to receive a duplicated key fob and a dispensing mechanism to dispense the duplicated key fob into the dispensing slot. The kiosk also includes a processor that receives an image from the imaging device, and detects a presence of the master key fob in the key fob receptacle based on an analysis of the received image. Upon detecting the presence of the master key fob, the processor reads codes stored on the master key fob, writes the codes on a blank key fob to generate the duplicated key fob, and causes the dispensing mechanism to dispense the duplicated key fob in the dispensing slot.

    Abstract: An aircraft equipped with a distributed fan propulsion system and methods of operating such aircraft are provided. In one aspect, an aircraft includes a wing having a top surface and a bottom surface. The aircraft also has a distributed propulsion system that includes a suction fan array having one or more fans mounted to the wing and a pressure fan array having one or more fans mounted to the wing. The fans of the suction fan array are each positioned primarily above the top surface of the wing and the fans of the pressure fan array are each positioned primarily below the bottom surface of the wing. The fans of the suction fan array are controllable independent of the fans of the pressure fan array so that the air pressure above and/or below the wing can be locally controlled, allowing for adjustment of lift on the wing.
