  • Publication number: 20110308827
Abstract: A power screwdriver is disclosed, having a drive for driving a tool spindle having a controller for controlling the drive, having a monitoring device for monitoring the rotation speed or the torque, and having a monitoring device for monitoring a switch-off criterion, which monitoring device is coupled to the controller, in order to switch off the drive when the switch-off criterion is reached, with the controller being programmed such that (a) the drive is first of all accelerated until the rotation speed has reached a specific first rotation speed; (b) if the rotation speed then falls by at least a specific amount within a specific time increment, or the torque rises by at least a specific amount within a specific time increment, the drive is braked until the rotation speed has reached a specific second rotation speed, which is lower than the first rotation speed; (c) the drive is then regulated at the second rotation speed for a specific time; and (d) after step (c), the drive is accelerated again at most

  • Publication number: 20100198152
Abstract: A cannula device having a base body made of plastic, on which a cannula is held, and having a guard element that can be moved relative to the base body into a second position, in which the cannula tip is exposed for the use of the cannula device, from a first position, in which, in the delivered state of the cannula device, the cannula tip is covered to protect the user from injury. The guard element is movable, after use of the cannula device, back into a third position in which the cannula tip is covered to protect a user from injury, and the guard element is irreversibly locked to the base body by a third fixing device including a first latching protrusion protruding from the base body and at least one first latching receptacle, associated with the first latching protrusion in at least one side wall of the guard element.

  • Publication number: 20090046484
Abstract: According to prior art, a clock frequency increase for clocked high-frequency integrated circuits, in particular microprocessors, reaches a current physical limit of approximately 3 GHz, as dynamic current modifications cannot be sufficiently compensated. The aim of the invention is to provide a power supply for electronic systems with a double-figure GHz range. To permit the rapid compensation of dynamic current modifications, the current compensation circuit (10) is placed in the vicinity of the integrated circuit (11) or is integrated into the latter. A control amplifier (8) influences a pulsewidth modulator (2) by means of an optical coupler (9). Said pulsewidth modulator control controls a normal mode voltage converter (3, 4) with synchronous rectification (5). A specific application area for the invention is the supply of future high-performance microprocessors, whose development has been delayed by the aforementioned power problem.

  • Patent number: 5798253
Abstract: An accelerated micro-organism culture method is for decomposing harmful substances. For this purpose, the cultivation, mutagenic treatment and stabilization of the micro-organisms are carried out simultaneously in a mutation fermenter containing a nutrient-rich basic medium (basic medium 1); selection is carried out in a selection fermenter containing a basic medium which is low in nutrients and is enriched with the harmful substance (basic medium 2); small amounts of biomass released from the nutrient-rich basic medium (basic medium 1) of the mutation fermenter are continuously removed from the mutation fermenter and transferred to the selection fermenter. Small amounts of biomass released from the basic medium which is low in nutrients (basic medium 2) of the selection fermenter are removed from the selection fermenter and transferred to the mutation fermenter. The entire process is carried out continuously in alternating selection and mutation phases, in the manner of a repeated cycle.

  • Patent number: 5779242
Abstract: A method for determining the winner of an event in which there are numerous players involves the players playing in groups in a first round, with the half of the players in each group having the highest scores advancing to a winners bracket, and the half of the players in each group having the lowest totals moving to a losers bracket. Play in the winners bracket proceeds in rounds until sixteen players remain, with half of the players in each round moving to the next winners round, and half moving to a selected round in the losers bracket. Play continues in the losers bracket in rounds with half of the players advancing and half being eliminated upon receipt of their second loss, until a single player with only one loss remains. The sixteen players with no losses in the winners bracket start a separate double-elimination bracket and play until four players remain. These four players and the single player from the losers bracket play in a championship bracket to determine the winner of the event.

  • Patent number: 4078604
Abstract: In a heat exchanger wall construction, such as used in regeneratively cooled combustion chambers for liquid fueled rocket engines, the wall construction consists of an inner wall with cooling channels spaced apart by webs. The cooling channels are open on one surface of the inner wall. An outer wall contacts the webs of the inner wall and forms a closure over the openings from the cooling channels. The outer wall consists of an intermediate layer electro-deposited on the surface of the inner wall in which the cooling channels are formed so that it provides a closure surface for the channels. The surfaces of the channels within the inner wall are coated by electro-depositing a layer of gold on them. After forming the gold layer on the surfaces of the cooling channels, the outer surfaces of the webs are etched so that the gold layer extends outwardly from the outer surface of the webs. Next the intermediate layer is deposited and it can be either a single layer or multi-layered.
