    Abstract: The composition includes an acrylic monomer having a carboxylic acid group, an acrylic monomer having a hydroxyl group, at least one of an alkyl acrylate or alkyl methacrylate, and from 20 to 35 percent by weight of a compound composed of divalent segments L and at least two X groups. The divalent segments L are represented by formula L. Each segment L is respectively directly bonded to two secondary N atoms, two tertiary N atoms, or a secondary and a tertiary N atom. Each R1 represents an alkylene group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and at least some of the R1 groups are —CH2—CH2—CH2—CH2—. Each X group is independently represented by the formula CH2?C(R)—C(O)—O—V—W—C(O)—. The acrylic monomer having a carboxylic acid group is present in an amount of at least one percent and less than 20 percent by weight. Articles and methods using the composition are also described.

    Abstract: A stretchable conductor includes a substrate with a first major surface, wherein the substrate is an elastomeric material. An elongate wire is on the first major surface of the substrate; the wire includes a first end and a second end, and further includes at least one arcuate region between the first end and the second end. At least one portion of the arcuate region of the wire in the region has a first surface area portion embedded in the surface of the substrate and a second surface area portion unembedded on the substrate and exposed in an amount sufficient to render at least an area of the substrate in the region electrically conductive. The unembedded second surface portion of the arcuate region may lie above or below a plane of the substrate. Composite articles including a stretchable conductor in durable electrical contact with a conductive fabric are also disclosed.

    Abstract: Investment casting compositions are provided including: a) at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer; b) a hydroxyl-functional poly(alkylene carbonate) polymer; c) a free-radical initiator; and d) a catalyst that aids in thermal decomposition of the hydroxyl-functional poly(alkylene carbonate) polymer. Methods of using the investment casting compositions are also provided, including: a) forming at least one investment casting pattern from an investment casting composition; b) investing the at least one investment casting pattern with at least one ceramic slurry to form a mold shell; and c) heating the mold shell to initiate decomposition of the hydroxyl-functional poly(alkylene carbonate) polymer and to form a ceramic mold. Use of these investment casting compositions tends to result in little to no cracking of the mold shell as well as allowing for significant removal of the investment casting pattern from the mold shell, upon heating of the mold shell.

    Abstract: An adhesive composition is described comprising unpolymerized cyclic olefin, a ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) catalyst or precatalyst thereof, and one or more adhesion promoter polymers. In one embodiment, the adhesion promoter is a polyolefin comprising maleic anhydride or silicon-containing moieties. In one embodiment, a combination of at least one polymeric polyisocyanate and at least one polyolefin comprising maleic anhydride or silicon-containing moieties provides a synergistic improvement. In another embodiment, a polymeric polyisocyanate adhesion promoter comprising oxygen atoms in the backbone has been found useful for bonding substrates such as polyamide, polyether ether ketone, or polyether imide. Also described are methods of bonding a substrate and articles, such as an electric battery cold plate assembly.
