Abstract: A method of balancing a movable rotating object having multiple radial projections, such as a ceiling fan, the method comprising the steps of: attaching to a non-rotating portion of the object a source that emits a focused light, directing the focused light at a target, and then attaching a weight to a location on one of the rotating projections. Then observing the orbit traced by the light source on the target, changing the location of the weight to another location on one of the radial projections, and then observing the change in the orbit on the target.

Abstract: The method for project planning provides a process operating on a computer system that enables project planning information to be displayed and arranged in different display environments. First, the process provides a flexible data arrangement display environment. The data arrangement display enables generating and manipulating data objects in a manner that facilitates creativity, and may include graphically associating the generated data objects with defined categories. In this way, the project planning information may be entered, viewed, and categorized. Second, the process also provides a more traditional project planning environment having task lists, task attributes, and task schedules. The more traditional project planning display enables sophisticated analysis and manipulation of project planning information. By selecting a particular environment, the process converts the project planning information into a form for viewing and manipulation in the selected display.

Abstract: An apparatus for killing insects, the apparatus including electrical means for killing insects, an inner shell, the inner shell being surrounded by the electrical means, and a mosquito attracting device within the inner shell. The insect attracting device includes a fan, a heat source, and a source of CO2. The inner shell has a plurality of openings in the inner shell for ejecting heated air and CO2 from within the inner shell, the openings being formed by indentations in the surface of the inner shell, each indentation being open at one end so as to form an opening which lies substantially perpendicularly to the extending axis of the inner shell. The attracting device further includes means for closing the source of CO2 and for stopping the fan when the temperature within the inner shell goes below said temperature. The insect attracting device further includes a moisture source, and an insect attractant.

Abstract: An automatic client configuration system provides a system administrator with the ability to configure every client in a network with one file which resides on the server, and which contains information for setting the client's lock files, preferences, configuration information, and software versions. Control over logical groupings of clients is possible using separate configuration files for each group. The configuration of the network clients is performed during runtime, is automatic, and can be initiated by either the client or the server. The client contacts the server at startup for configuration information, which returns the configuration file that is used by the client to configure its system. The administrator uses the server to query the clients in the network for information, such as file version numbers. If the server determines that any of the clients need file updates, it sends the files to the specific client, which replaces the existing files with the new files sent by the server.
