Subcategories and search collections that are associated with the search category are identified and user interface data may be generated that cause at least a portion of the subcategories and search collections associated with a search component to be rendered in a display of the client device. The search component is configured to use a selected one of the at least a portion of the subcategories to narrow a search conducted using the search component by generating a narrowing search query.

    Abstract: A method for the in-situ treatment of a pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid ester with an oxidizing agent, such as hydrogen peroxide, to improve product quality is provided. The method for the in-situ removal of impurities from a saponified solution of pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid ester comprises the steps of providing a solution of pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid ester, saponifying the solution with a base to form the corresponding pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid salt, reacting the solution with an oxidizing agent in an amount effective to remove impurities, acidifying the solution with an acid to convert the pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid into the corresponding pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid, and collecting a purified solution comprising pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid. Further provided is a method for the preparation of herbicidal 2-(2-imidazolin-2-yl)nicotinic acids, esters, and salts by using a pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid salt prepared by the above method as an intermediate.

    Abstract: An improved topical medicament useful in treating athletic injuries or other painful subdermal conditions is provided which includes a penetrating solvent such as dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) along with, in preferred forms, a corticosteroid (e.g., hydrocortisone acetate), a counterirritant/analgesic such as methyl salicylate, and one or more emulsifiers, a rubifacient and an alcoholic carrier. The medicaments hereof, when applied topically, are absorbed through the skin and serve to transport the corticosteroid and/or analgesic to a site of inflammation. The preferred salicylate component is converted to the analgesic salicyic acid and active metabolites in the bloodstream to serve as a pain killing agent (i.e., a prostaglandin inhibitor). The compositions hereof may be in the form of lotions, creams or aerosols, depending upon desired end use.
