  • Patent number: 10974115
Abstract: A golfing appartaus for assisting a golfer in putting includes a guide member adapted to encourage only certain motions during the golf swing to improve the engagement of ball with club and subsequently improve ball control, trajectory and speed. Further the golfing apparatus includes a movable member configured to slide along a path defined by the guide member and coupled with the putter handle. The guide member is afixed to the waist of a golfer. The guide member is curved to follow a natural rotation of arms and shoulders of the golfer and can be adjusted for proper angle that best fits a golfer's stance and has a second planar back stop surface to further align and control the movement of the putter club head, thereby assisting the golfer in putting.

  • Patent number: 10139498
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring radiation includes a plurality of detectors (2), each detector (2) including: a scintillating material (4) for emitting light in response to incident radiation (6), and a photodetector (8) for receiving light emitted by the scintillating material (4) and outputting an electrical pulse in response to light received from the scintillating material (4), wherein a parameter characterising the electrical pulse is related to an energy associated with the incident radiation (6); and a power supply (10) for supplying power to a plurality of the photodetectors (8). The apparatus reduces the volume of hardware to be transported to the measurement location and therefore provides particular advantages for scanning pipelines and other structures located deep underwater.

  • Patent number: 9199611
Abstract: Provided is a preprogrammed key fob system that allows a user to limit a vehicle top speed while the given key fob is being used to operate the vehicle. The system comprises a vehicle system and a navigation system, wherein the navigation system is disposed within the key fobs and the key fob is adapted to communicate with the vehicle system while in use. The navigation system of each key is utilized to capture the local speed limit of a given road, while a vehicle speed is programmed into the specific key to set a vehicle speed buffer above the local speed limit being traveled. The system therefore limits the user of a given key to a preset limit, which adapts in real-time based on the local speed limits and allows the owner of the keys to set the limits and to monitor the vehicle conditions using the system.

  • Patent number: 8428271
Abstract: A device is disclosed to provide balanced distortion in a musical instrument and to emulate the sound of a tube amplifier when overdriven. The device distorts, clips, and limits, selectively, an input audio signal. The circuit includes: an input stage to receive the input audio signal, remain linear, and maintain balanced outputs, and to split the input audio signal into an inverting, negative path and a non-inverting, positive path; an inverting, negative path balanced distortion circuit to receive an inverting, negative path input; a non-inverting, positive path balanced distortion circuit to receive a non-inverting, positive path input; and an output stage, wherein the output stage combines a pair of differential inputs to produce an output audio signal. The audio distortion circuit cancels incoming asymmetries in the output stage from the combined pair of differential inputs and produces the output audio signal as symmetric.

  • Patent number: 7993210
Abstract: One embodiment of a golfing apparatus for assisting a golfer in playing golf includes an belt member adapted to be wrapped around a waist of the golfer. The belt member includes a groove. Further, the golfing apparatus includes an attaching member carried by end portions of the belt member. The attaching member is adapted to secure the belt member to the waist of the golfer. Furthermore, the golfing apparatus includes a guiding member adapted to receive a handle portion of a golf club. The guiding member is slidably engaged in the groove to enable a free movement of the guiding member therein. The free movement of the guiding member in the groove guides a swing of the golf club received in the guiding member, thereby assisting the golfer in playing golf.

  • Publication number: 20080071700
Abstract: A probabilistic threshold index or fund method of determining membership of financial instruments in an index or fund comprises determining measurement values for a list of companies, determining constraints based on these measurement values, specifying a probability model, and reconstituting the index or fund based on the model probability that the measurement values of these financial instruments will satisfy the constraints at a time in the future. The method can be used with fixed probability thresholds, deleting financial instruments with probabilities lower than the lower threshold, and adding non-member financial instruments with probabilities higher than the upper threshold. The method may be adapted to maintain an index or fund with a fixed number of financial instruments. A fund or index may be constituted according to the index or fund, and a marketplace may comprise one or more funds or indices.

  • Patent number: 7207414
Abstract: A supporting bracket assembly for a horizontal lifeline cable (4) comprises a base plate (14), bracket means (24) and holding means (28) for the cable. The base plate (14) is provided for securing to a structure (6). The bracket means (24) is secured to the base plate and adapted for frictionally restrained pivotability with respect to the base plate and the holding means (28) for the cable (4) is secured to the bracket means (24). In this way, dynamic loading of the cable (4) results in pivoting of the bracket means (24), against frictional restraint, from a first position (36) into a second position (38).

  • Patent number: 6789301
Abstract: An apparatus and method for allowing the spotting of one or more movable cores to mating portions of a mold. The present invention provides for the placement of a mold on a support structure and the releasable connection of each movable core to a force exerting device. The force exerting device allows for controlled and repeatable movement of the movable core or cores to which the force exerting device is attached. The present invention preferably also allows each movable core being spotted to be set to, and retracted from the mold, to a position where adjustments may be made to the movable core and/or the mating portion of the mold without removing the movable core therefrom. The present invention, therefore, provides for a higher quality and more efficient spotting of movable mold cores than is currently possible.
