  • Publication number: 20140276538
Abstract: An ambulatory infusion system and a method of operating including a disposable infusion cartridge having a collapsible reservoir and a substantially rigid shell disposed over the collapsible reservoir having an interior volume, a pump device, a pressure sensor in communication with the interior volume and a processor. The method includes actuating the pressure sensor to take pressure measurements at regular time intervals; periodically assessing a preselected number of the pressure measurements with statistical analysis to identify statistical measures associated with the pressure measurements; and using the statistical measures to assess the status of the flexible reservoir and the pump device.

  • Publication number: 20130331790
Abstract: A portable medical device includes an interface for accepting, a power supply and enabling data transfer while still connected to a human body. The interface may include a universal serial bus interface and may be coupled to a data isolation chip and a power isolation chip. A power controlling processor may determine how the supplied power, e.g., voltage, is supplied to other components within the infusion device. Additional circuitry within the system may provide a secure power transfer within the device to ensure user safety and ensure that a high frequency noise is properly attenuated.

  • Publication number: 20120104742
Abstract: A lottery ticket is formed by a substrate sheet material on which is printed game and other indicia with some or all of the game indicia being covered by a scratch-off material removable by the player. A ticket viewing device in the form of a flat panel defining glasses may be contained in a pocket formed on one side of the sheet or they can be supplied separate from the ticket. The glasses are used by the player for viewing the ticket with at least some of the indicia being printed in a manner which cooperates with the ticket viewing device so that the indicia are visible to the player in a three dimensional format. The pocket can be formed an attached layer of a different material for example of transparent plastic or the pocket can be formed by folding one edge of the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20080182121
Abstract: The invention is a laminate made of very thin copper sheet preferably between 0.0005 and 0.01 inches thick, aluminum sheet preferably between 0.004 and 0.04 inches thick, and adhesive between the copper and aluminum sheets. The cost of the aluminum, adhesive, and the manufacturing process combined are much less expensive than solid copper sheet of 0.020 inches in thickness. However, when the copper sheet of the laminate is on the outside, the aesthetic qualities are indistinguishable from heavyweight solid copper sheet.

  • Publication number: 20080040144
Abstract: A logistics system manages the shipments of goods supplied from a plurality of different shippers by a plurality of carriers. It has a variety of modules integrated with each other to perform various functionalities. For example, it may have a purchasing module evaluating proposals by shippers for respective shipments of goods and awarding contracts for the shipments to the plurality of carriers. It may have an optimization module analyzing the proposals and informing the purchasing module if an opportunity exists for at least some of the shipments to be consolidated, in which case at least one contract awarded by the purchasing module is for a consolidated group of the shipments. It may have a contract administration module maintaining information relating to the status of proposals received and contracts awarded by the purchasing module. It may have a scheduling module scheduling shipments according to the awarded contracts.

  • Publication number: 20070265957
Abstract: A computer method for automating person-to-person lending comprises receiving from a user over a computer network at least one custom periodic payment amount for a loan period of a person-to-person loan; generating a custom loan schedule based on the custom amount; and transmitting the custom loan schedule over the computer network to the user. A further method comprises receiving from a first user over a computer network a request to modify at least one specific periodic payment amount for a loan period of a pre-existing person-to-person loan; receiving from a second user a consent to the first user's request; and generating a revised loan schedule for the loan based on the request to modify the payment amount. Another method comprises retrieving from a database loan history data for a person-to-person loan; and transmitting the loan history data to a credit reporting agency over a computer network.
