Publication number: 20220379185Abstract: A device (10) for training a batter for a baseball or softball game has a body (12) that is fitted to the arm of the user, parallel to the humerus bone. A slot (30) on an outer surface of the device body is sized and adapted to receive a shaft portion of a user's bat, at an oblique angle to the humerus bone. The device trains the user to keep the shaft of the bat close to an upper portion of the user's arm below the shoulder and above the elbow. The device also trains the user to employ a rotation of the torso and hips to induce a moment of rotational inertia in the bat, causing the bat to be pulled out of the slot and into a swing plane.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2021Publication date: December 1, 2022Inventor: Michael Mulligan

Patent number: 9347778Abstract: A method and system for managing differences between geographic database versions is disclosed. A user registers his version of a geographic database with a map management application and thereafter enters a destination on a graphical user interface. The map management application checks to see if data representing the destination is located in the user's version of the geographic database and a more current version of the geographic database. If the data representing the destination is located in the more current version but not the user's version of the geographic database, the map management application provides the user with options, including upgrading to a more current version of the geographic database.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2013Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: HERE Global B.V.Inventors: Joseph B. Publication number: 20060248742Abstract: A tape measure includes a housing, a rule blade coilable within the housing, and an edge guide coupled to the housing. The edge guide may be oriented in either a first position, in which the edge guide contacts the edge of a work surface, or a second position, in which the edge guide does not contact the edge of the work surface. The edge guide may be permanently or releasably connected to the housing. The tape measure may further include a laser assembly that generates a laser line intersecting the rule blade and the work surface and a calibration mechanism to adjust the alignment of the laser line. In use, the edge guide may orient the tape measure on the work surface such that the laser line is generally perpendicular to the work surface edge.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2006Publication date: November 9, 2006Inventors: James Marshall, Oleksiy Sergyeyenko, Colin Dyke, Michael Mulligan

Publication number: 20060031825Abstract: A radio broadcast system using a second communication channel provides an interactive functionality to allow a user to know what song or piece of music is playing on the first, radio channel and possibly other details about what is being listened to. A data transmission from the broadcast station is received by a server with additional information about the content of the first channel, and after the server determines mobile terminal devices to be updated with the additional information, it generates updating messages comprising the additional information, and updates the information to the determined terminal devices via a wireless communication network. The updated information is then received by a given terminal device and displayed on a display of the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2002Publication date: February 9, 2006Inventor: Michael Mulligan
