  • Patent number: 6366207
Abstract: Device for monitoring and/or modifying vehicle operator behavior. The device is suited for reducing vehicle operator aggressive driving behavior which leads to increased anger and so-called “road rage”, and includes a sensor mountable in a vehicle that detects a vehicle driving condition exceeding a preset vehicle driving condition. A signal is operatively associated with the sensor and provides a warning to a vehicle operator when the sensor detects a vehicle driving condition which exceeds a predetermined value. The signal to the driver is deactivated and stops providing the warning when the sensor detects the preset vehicle driving condition for greater than a predetermined period of time. The warning to the operator may be a caution such as “Easy, now” and “You can let it go”. The device may provide.

  • Patent number: 6314902
Abstract: The patent describes a power boat having a transom and a swim platform or step generally projecting from the transom at a right angle at or near the water line. The swim step is adapted to the launching of a seated rider carried on a sky ski having an elongated board and a tee bar normally extending from the board into the water. The swim platform has a slot adapted to receive tee bar and extends from the port and/or starboard margins and runs generally parallel to the transom to an extent sufficient to snugly receive the tee bar while the board is supported by the platform with the tee bar extending through the slot and below the platform into the water whereby a rider can mount the seat and secure himself to the sky ski and then readily launch himself and the ski by pushing out of the slot.

  • Patent number: 6311351
Abstract: A pressure point relief system for use in a patient resting surface, such as a mattress, that has different firmness ratings in different areas of the surface of the mattress which correspond to different points of a patient's body. The pressure point relief device has at least one first foam strip of a predetermined firmness, and at least one second foam strip having a firmness greater than that of the first foam strip and positioned adjacent to the first foam strip so as to form a smooth transition from a surface of the first foam strips to a surface of the second foam strips. In addition, at least one foam truss portion is positioned adjacent to the first and second foam strips so as to provide a smooth transition from the surface of the first and second foam strips to a surface of the truss system thereby forming a substantially planar surface.

  • Patent number: 6282362
Abstract: A geographical position/image capturing system stores object images and position coordinates as digital data. The system incorporates a geo-addressed map data base and geo-positioning device for relating the position of the system at the time the image is captured to the captured digital image data and the geo-addressed map. A point-of-interest feature data base is linked to the image data and the position data, by hyper-media links. Digital multi-media entities such as graphics, video clips, audio streams and the like can be digitally stored and retrieved based on hyper-media links coupling the entities to the object images, the map position and feature data base. A playback unit incorporating an image viewer communicates with the stored digital digital image data, the multi-media entities, the map data base, and the feature data base and allows modified images of selected portions of the images and other data to be viewed by a user.

  • Patent number: 6253526
Abstract: A process for installing a carpet underlay resistant to water requires placing a padding over a floor, mechanically securing the padding to the floor and placing an underlay over the padding. The underlay is formed of a water resistant fabric or water resistant film. The fabric being treated with a water repellent finish. The resulting fabric or film being resistant to water such that 20 ml of water poured on a sample of the underlay from a height of 6 cm results in no wet spot after 10 minutes, or results in a wet spot having a maximum diameter of 2.54 cm, on a paper towel located directly beneath the location on the underlay on which the water has been poured.

  • Patent number: 6209159
Abstract: A pressure reducing cushion with selective pressure point relief features at least two air bladders, and a foam outer layer covering the air bladders. Each air bladder consists of an impervious to air sheet material which surrounds an open celled compressible foam material. Attached to the air bladder is an air flow tube and attached to the air flow tube is a flow control element. When the flow control element is open air from the atmosphere is able to communicate with the interior of the open celled compressible foam material through the air flow tube in combination with the flow control element. The open celled compressible foam material is of such a characteristic that once it is deformed it tends to regain its original shape, thus filling the air bladder with air, if the flow control element is open.

  • Patent number: 6179676
Abstract: A water sport device for supporting a seated human rider while the rider and the device are towed behind a powered water craft, including an elongate board to which a seat and foot holder are secured, an elongate hydrofoil extending downward from the board and a planing blade secured to the hydrofoil generally parallel to the board so that the planing blade provides essentially no lift when the board is horizontal. The seat is secured to the board by a shock absorbing means to cushion the impact forces on the rider. The positioning of the seat and the planing blades at the rear of the board, the use of a single vertical hydrofoil, the size of the planing blade and the positioning of the foot holders at least two feet in front of the seat provides a water sports device which is relatively easy to ride, while at the same time being highly maneuverable and capable of high jumps.
