  • Publication number: 20240075312
Abstract: Illumination devices for impinging light on tissue, for example within a body cavity of a patient, to induce various biological effects are disclosed. Biological effects may include at least one of inactivating and/or inhibiting growth of one or more pathogens, upregulating a local immune response, increasing endogenous stores of nitric oxide, releasing nitric oxide from endogenous stores, and inducing an anti-inflammatory effect. Biological effects may include upregulating and downregulating inflammatory immune response molecules within a target tissue. Wavelengths of light are selected based on intended biological effects for one or more of targeted tissue types and targeted pathogens. • Patent number: 11883800
Abstract: A variety of redox catalysts, methods of making, and methods of using thereof are provided. Surface modified redox catalysts are provided having an oxygen carrier core with an outer surface that has been modified to enhance the selectivity of the redox catalyst for oxidative dehydrogenation. The surface modification can include forming a redox catalyst outer layer on the outer surface and/or suppressing sites that form nonselective electrophilic oxygen sites on the outer surface of the oxygen carrier. A variety of methods are provided for making the surface modified redox catalysts, e.g. modified Pechini methods. A variety of methods are provided for using the catalysts for oxidative cracking of light paraffins. Methods are provided for oxidative cracking of light paraffins by contacting the paraffin with a core-shell redox catalyst described herein to convert the paraffins to water and olefins, diolefins, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 11674783
Abstract: A testing system for testing a missile component having a sense axis includes a centrifuge, a support arm, an orientation assembly, and a controller. The centrifuge rotates the orientation assembly about a vertical axis in a substantially horizontal plane. The orientation assembly includes a first motor, a first gimbal, and a gimballed support. The first motor has a first rotatable shaft defining a first gimbal axis. The first gimbal is coupled with the first rotatable shaft to rotate about the first gimbal axis while the centrifuge rotates the orientation assembly about the vertical axis such that missile component is simultaneously rotated about both the vertical axis and the first gimbal axis to simulate a missile launch of the missile component. The gimballed support is coupled with the first gimbal for supporting the missile component such that the sense axis of the missile component is not parallel to the substantially horizontal plane.

  • Patent number: 10835769
Abstract: A mobile firefighting system includes a water cannon enabled for spraying slush on or near a fire. The slush includes solid material (e.g., ice, solid fire retardant) that is projected farther than a liquid could be projected using high pressure. The slush has enhanced fire suppression and fire protection characteristics compared to a liquid. Multiple tanks add enhanced slush chilling capability (e.g., through sequenced chilling) and provide redundant backup systems. A mobile cannon includes multiple reducing nozzles that can be aimed by a rotating base and hydraulic cylinder (for raising and lowering). Continuous tracks and winches contribute to all-terrain capabilities.

  • Patent number: 10643589
Abstract: An instrument modeled after a hi hat hi-hat consisting of wood, metal (or other material) and linked material, creating a complex sound effect when closed together, and an “808” (i.e. Roland “808” or similar) snare drum sound when struck with drumstick is disclosed. This invention allows drummers to create complex sounds using the hi-hat pedal (or other mounting device), to lower the Top Hi-hat toward the Bottom Hi-hat and cause the linked material to connect with the “bottom hi-hat.” The claimed device also replaces the standard electronic pad (such as but not limited to the Roland SPDS sampler pad) that recreated the famous “808” (i.e. Roland “808” or similar) handclap sound. Variations of the invention is meant to be used either alongside the traditional metal hi-hat or in lieu of the traditional metal hi-hat.

  • Patent number: 9730284
Abstract: A LAM/ICM assembly comprises an integrated control module (ICM) and an LED array member (LAM). The ICM includes interconnect through which power from outside the assembly is received. In a first novel aspect, active circuitry is embedded in the ICM. In one example, the circuitry monitors LED operation, controls and supplies power to the LEDs, and communicates information into and out of the assembly. In a second novel aspect, a lighting system comprises an AC-to-DC converter and a LAM/ICM assembly. The AC-to-DC converter outputs a substantially constant current or voltage. The magnitude of the current or voltage is adjusted by a signal output from the LAM/ICM. In a third novel aspect, the ICM includes a built-in switching DC-to-DC converter. An AC-to-DC power supply supplies a roughly regulated supply voltage. The switching converter within the LAM/ICM receives the roughly regulated voltage and supplies a regulated LED drive current to its LEDs.
