    Abstract: A method for calibrating a 3D printer includes the steps of providing information obtained in a factory calibration indicating a center of an inner diameter of a tip orifice in a metal extrusion nozzle and a center of a tip surface for the nozzle and inductively sensing the nozzle with an eddy current sensor when secured to a print head on a gantry or robotic arm of the 3D printer to identify a sensed location of the center of the tip surface of the nozzle. The method includes determining a location of the center of the inner diameter of the tip orifice on the nozzle on the print head and utilizing the provided information to locate the center of the inner diameter of the tip orifice.

    Abstract: An applicator assembly for applying at least a portion of an analyte monitor includes a frame having a longitudinal axis and an opening, a resilient member having at least a first portion fixed relative to the frame and a second portion movable axially relative to the frame, a needle, and a cap engageable with the frame to cover at least part of the opening. The cap is adjustable to increase a bias on the resilient member and to move the second portion of the resilient member away from the opening. When the cap is separated from the frame, the second portion of the resilient member is configured to be held relative to the frame. The hold on the second portion of the resilient member is releasable, such that the bias on the resilient member advances the second portion of the resilient member and the needle towards the opening.

The control circuit controls the first and second switches to perform a turn-on sequence of the power FET, including: closing the first switch while keeping the second switch open; and after receiving a signal from the dV/dt phase detector indicating the dV/dt phase has started, opening the first switch, and closing the second switch.

    Abstract: A semiconductor device may include a plurality of single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) pixels. The semiconductor device may be a backside device having a substrate at the backside, dielectric layers on the substrate, metal layers interleaved with the dielectric layers, and a through silicon via (TSV) formed in the backside through the substrate and the dielectric layers. TSV seal rings may be formed around the TSV to protect the semiconductor device from moisture and/or water ingress. The TSV seal rings may be coupled to a high-voltage cathode bond pad and be coupled to offset portions of one of the metal layers to reduce leakage and/or parasitic effects due to the voltage difference between the cathode and the substrate. The TSV seal rings may also be merged with die seal rings at the edge of the substrate.

The surrounding environment may be configured to interact in a manner that is detectable by filling it with a flowable scattering medium, e.g. a gas, mist or vapour comprising a suspension of fine particles in air. Light that is scattered by the flowable scattering medium is visible in a captured image. Where the flowable scattering medium is not present, e.g. because the object blocks it, the scattered signal is less. A boundary of a scattered signal region may thus provide information about the location of an object.
