Abstract: Any of various comparisons of computer folders from different points in time is performed. Such comparisons provide the ability to discover missing documents or documents with modification dates that have changed when there would otherwise have been no need to change them and thus allows discovery of missing documents to discover fraud or to search for evidence after a fraud is suspected. In another embodiment, deltas in accounting system vendor invoice accounts are compared at different points in time, potentially exposing the practice of moving fraudulent vendor transactions into a large group of legitimate transactions for a legitimate vendor. Per period transaction totals for specific periods for legitimate vendors are compared over histokal time for suspicious activity. A comparison of reports from the two different periods, using exact data and software from those separate periods (instead of reporting from “current'” data), may raise a red flag otherwise missed.

Abstract: The invention is a system and method of appraising and managing risk relating to technology needs using a risk management processing engine. The risk management processing engine serves as a central server for an administrator to manage a plurality of policy holders and third party service technicians. The invention gathers policy holder data, determining the risk associated with the data, creating a risk management policy for technology service events and technology service situations in order to mitigate or eliminate the risk, and resolving serviceable events when risk is actualized.

Abstract: Methods and systems allow an application capable of online communication to monitor the availability of different electronic communications sources and provide transition between online and offline operation and between different electronic communications sources. When a change occurs in connectivity source status, such as when the user disconnects from a wireline connection or goes offline or when a connection is otherwise lost due to mechanical failure or loss of wireline or wireless signal or when a reduction in bandwidth or connection speed is detected, the application is automatically transitioned between online and offline status and between different types of connectivity source without user action and without interruption of use of the application. If an online connection may not be obtained via TCP/IP connection, a determination is made as to whether the application and computer operating system are configured for RPC/HTTP connectivity.

A monitoring system comprising disposable sensor components and a network component for the collection of sensor information and for relaying this information for remote access and analysis is disclosed, where the sensor components and the network component communicate using the wearer as a signal propagation medium.

Abstract: A mobile incident recording and reporting system and method for use in a vehicle for forming at least one data package for reporting of incidents, wherein the system includes a computer system, the computer encrypts and compresses data package. A video and an audio capture device communicating with the computer, a GPS receiver and a magnetic card reader communicates with the computer, a power supply engages the computer, and a power converter and distribution device communicates between the GPS and the computer. A data entry device, Ethernet transceiver, security device to log on, and display communicate with the computer. The system receives data via the GPS receiver forming a continuously updated log, from an audio and video recording and the data entry device, the system links a data file to the audio and video recording and then creates at least one data package.

Abstract: A precordial overlay and dual backing assembly is expeditiously affixed together in a manner which allows it to be packaged in an unalterable form. When needed to obtain an ECG reading, the assembly is removed from the packaging and the precordial overlay swiftly separated from the dual backing. The dual backing is discarded. The precordial overlay is quickly and accurately positioned on a patient, The precordial overlay of the assembly comprises an elongated band having a first and a second generally rectangular-shaped sections joined together by an intermediate section. All three sections have at least one cut-out to receive an adhesive-backed electrode assembly. The dual backing of the assembly is similarly shaped and comprises a thin intermediate substrate with release agents on each side and a thin lower substrate with a release agent on a top side. The intermediate substrate further has a set of bent-back flaps, each flap positioned to receive an underside of one of the electrode assemblies.

Abstract: An improved linerless plastic closure includes a top panel that has external and internal surfaces and a generally cylindrical sidewall that is unitary with the top panel and has an internally threaded surface that is adapted to engage with a threaded finish portion of a container. A shoulder portion is defined between the internal surface of the top panel and the internal surface of the sidewall. A linerless sealing member extends radially inwardly from the shoulder portion. A first radius is defined in the shoulder portion between the linerless sealing member and the internal surface of the top panel. A second radius is defined in the shoulder portion between the linerless sealing member and the internal surface of the sidewall. But the first and second radii are preferably configured to be at least 0.020 inches, which has been found to reduce the potential for stress-related cracking.

The raised rib is angled downwardly from the edge slightly towards the recessed central food supporting surface to support the wine glass at a slightly tilted angle to the general plane of the plate.

Abstract: A plastic closure for a container includes a top wall and a downwardly depending substantially cylindrical skirt that is unitary with the top wall. The skirt defines inner and outer surfaces as well as a lower rim at a distal, bottom end thereof. In addition, at least one thread is defined on the inner surface of the skirt. Most advantageously, reinforcing structure is provided on the skirt an area between the lower rim and a lowermost thread of the inner surface for enhancing the dimensional integrity of the closure during opening.

Abstract: A method of making below 250-nm UV light transmitting optical fluoride lithography crystals includes applying heat along a shortest path of conduction of a selected optical fluoride crystal, heating the optical fluoride crystal to an annealing temperature, holding the temperature of the optical fluoride crystal at the annealing temperature, and gradually cooling the optical fluoride crystal to provide a low-birefringence optical fluoride crystal for transmitting below 250-nm UV light.
