  • Patent number: 11482881
Abstract: A power supply circuit for powering components of a facility are disclosed. The power supply circuit may include a power transformer, a power input terminal, a power output terminal, a bridge, a relay, and a control circuit. The relay is connected between the power input terminal and the power output terminal. A primary side of the power transformer is coupled between the relay and the power output terminal. The bridge is coupled to the secondary side of the power transformer. In a normal power mode, the control circuit closes the relay and operates the bridge as a rectifier. In an emergency power mode, the control circuit opens the relay and operates the bridge as a pulse width modulator. In this manner, the bridge and the power transformer can be used both to charge a battery during normal operation and generate emergency AC power from the battery.

  • Patent number: 11359728
Abstract: An anti-cavitation valve assembly includes a seat positioned within a fluid pathway between a fluid inlet and outlet of a valve. Spaced apart elongated seat apertures are formed in a circumferential wall of the seat that have a varying opening width along a length thereof to direct fluid flow into an inner seat chamber of the seat. A disc guide is slidably movable relative to the seat and has a wall having spaced apart disc guide apertures formed therein. A tortuous fluid flow pathway is formed as fluid enters through the seat apertures, into the inner seat chamber, and exits through the disc guide apertures to minimize fluid cavitation.

  • Publication number: 20220049391
Abstract: A synthetic radiator fabric with permanent mechanical wicking defines an inner surface and has a raised knit body defining an opposite outer surface. The fabric includes hydrophilic and hydrophobic fiber-containing yarns. At the inner surface, the hydrophilic fiber-containing yarns collect liquid sweat from a wearer's skin surface and maintain the collected sweat at the inner surface, generally in the vicinity of and/or in contact with the wearer's skin, for encouraging evaporation of sweat and providing evaporative cooling. The raised knit body extends from the inner surface toward, and defines, the opposite outer surface. The hydrophobic fiber-containing yarns are arranged in a radiator-like construction forming egg-crate or honey-comb like cells or pores, defined by the knit body and open to the inner surface. At the outer fabric surface, the hydrophobic fibers receive excess sweat from the wearer's body, thereby to encourage rapid evaporation and drying, for improved breathability.

  • Patent number: 11085927
Abstract: Described herein is a kit of materials prepared for assays that involve determining relative abundance and/or absolute abundance of various targeted peptides. The kit may comprise trigger versions of target peptides with masses offset from the respective target peptides by predetermined and known amounts. The trigger peptides may be present in amounts that may be readily detected via a mass spectrometry analysis. When mixed with samples that are analyzed, detection of the trigger peptides indicates where in the mass-spectrometer output the target peptide may be found. The kit may include a predetermined amount of synthetic versions of one or more of the target peptides. A measured relative abundance of this synthetic peptide relative to that of the target peptides yields an absolute quantitative value of the target peptide. Also disclosed is a method of preparing a plurality of samples to be submitted for mass spectrometer analysis in parallel.

  • Patent number: 10987191
Abstract: A triple flap nipple reconstruction is shown with preoperative incision markup lines guided by a template. The incision lines made on a patient's skin rims of flaps that are to form a reconstructed nipple. The marked-up lines define three flaps where each flap has one side in common with each of the other two flaps and also has one side in common with a part of the skin which is to be removed or de-epithelized. Also, the marked-up lines define parts of the patient's skin to be removed or de-epithelized. The surgical method thus consists of making the markup with the template with three single pedicled local dermal-fat flaps from the patient's skin and then de-epithelizing designated areas of the patient's skin, making incisions and forming, i.e., raising three flaps, forming base and elevating nipple by joining sides of de-epithelized areas, and jointing the three flaps.

  • Publication number: 20200132229
Abstract: A hose arrangement includes an outer tube of flexible material and an inner tube of an elastic material for carrying fluid. Due to an action of the elastic inner tube, the hose has a shorter length in a contracted state in the absence of fluid pressure in the interior of the inner elastic tube and a longer length in an expanded state when the fluid pressure is applied to the interior of the elastic inner tube. The tube has an undulating state in the contracted state and controls and contains expansion of the inner tube when the hose is in the expanded state. At least one sleeve portion is provided between the elastic inner tube and the outer tube along a part of the elastic inner tube where undulation of the outer tube occurs in the contracted state for protecting the elastic inner tube from abrasion undulations of the outer tube.
