  • Patent number: 11015761
Abstract: A pressure vessel includes a carbon fiber reinforced plastic with an integrated permeation barrier as its innermost layer. Alternating layers of permeation barrier and carbon fiber reinforced plastic may also be used. During manufacturing, the permeation barrier is sprayed on and integrated into the composite. The vessel, which is well-suited for high pressure gas storage is lighter weight than prior art vessels and has more usable volume than same-dimensioned prior art vessel. The permeation barrier encapsulates one or more ports or fittings of the vessel to reduce or eliminate the potential for gaps through which gas can escape. In one embodiment, a removable tooling process is employed in the manufacture of the vessel. In another embodiment, a permanent tooling process is employed and the tooling serves as a sorbent material for the vessel.

  • Patent number: 9065680
Abstract: A virtual private network (VPN) service is provided through a shared network infrastructure comprising interconnected provider edge (PE) devices having customer edge (CE) interfaces. Some of the CE interfaces are allocated to a VPN supporting virtual LANs. A correspondence between a CE interface and a virtual LAN is learnt on the basis of tagged frames received at this CE interface and including an identifier of this virtual LAN. The learning process permits the detection of pairs of CE interfaces which correspond to a common virtual LAN. Upon such detection, a virtual circuit is established in the shared network infrastructure between the PE devices having these CE interfaces, and subsequently used for forwarding frames including the identifier of the common virtual VLAN.

  • Publication number: 20130084071
Abstract: With Reconfigurable Optical Add Drop Modules (ROADMs) gaining popularity in the fiber optic market, many network designers are seeing the benefits of this technology. But the industry standard has been to make ROADMs automatically configurable, which adds considerably to the cost. Significant savings can be achieved by creating a manual ROADM for locations that do not require frequent configuration changes. This is achieved using a unique front panel configuration of a simple Optical Add Drop Module (OADM) system.

  • Patent number: 7864789
Abstract: A platform is connected over a synchronous network using a GFP encapsulation scheme to a provider device having a first Ethernet interface with a customer device, said platform being arranged for exchanging tagged frames including a virtual LAN identifier (VID) with a service unit over a second Ethernet interface. If an error condition is detected at a GFP port of the platform, a correspondence is retrieved between said GFP port and a VID and a deregistration message including said VID is forwarded to the service unit. If an error condition is detected at the second Ethernet interface responsive to reception of a deregistration message including a VID from the service unit, a correspondence is retrieved between said VID and a GFP port and said deregistration message is forwarded through said GFP port to the provider device in a GFP error message. When several Ethernet interfaces concentrated by a bridge face the provider device, another VID is taken into account in the correspondence retrieving.

  • Publication number: 20100064672
Abstract: A heat-exchanger (1) consists of a series of closely-spaced, essentially planar, pressure elements (11). Each pressure-element comprises a laminated plate-pair having surfaces formed to provide a plurality of ribbon like cavities between the plates, through which a working fluid can flow. Each plate-pair is joined around the common perimeter to produce a pressure-tight envelope having fluid-inlet and outlet ports at suitable locations. Between adjoining pressure-elements, heat-conductor plates (20) of corrugated profile are located; providing a series of narrow, approximately triangular-sectioned channels, distributed across each pressure-element, through which hot exhaust-gases can form a counter-flow with that of the pressure-element working fluid. The heat-conductor plates are engineered to react pressure-loading from the pressure-elements.

  • Patent number: 7555574
Abstract: A method and apparatus for maintaining data throughput in a data element includes receiving a clock and a first plurality of instances of data having a first width on an input, sampling consecutive ones of instances of the data having the first width at consecutive ones of a first rising edge and a first falling edge of the clock, respectively, to generate two plurality of instances of sampled data having a first width. The plurality of instances of sampled data is then sampled at a second rising edge of the clock and parallelized to generate a second plurality of instances of parallel data having a second width greater than the first width. The parallel data may then be processed to for example generate statistics to monitor link integrity, prior to being transmitted. A 10 Gbps data transmission speed may be maintained using the IEEE 802.3ae-specified media independent interface clock.
