  • Publication number: 20030029112
Abstract: A device for creating a receptacle within preformed walls, the preformed walls having an internal wall and an external wall such that a curable material may be poured therebetween. The device having a first, second, third, and fourth panel that are interconnected and receive a fifth panel at an inner edge thereof such that an opening is defined by the first, second, third, and fourth panel at an outer edge thereof which is distal to the fifth panel. Inserting the device into a cavity defined through the internal wall such that the outer edge of the first, second, third, and fourth panels may be attached to the internal wall during pouring of the curable material. The opening adapted to receive a member therein.

  • Patent number: 6188888
Abstract: A Charging unit for a cellular telephone is provided with having means for connection to an electrical power source and a charging circuit for delivering a charging current to a battery pack or the cellular telephone itself, if the cellular telephone includes an internal energy retaining mechanism (e.g., charge storage device such as a battery). The charging unit further includes a plurality of electrical contacts in electrical communication with the charging circuit. Finally, the invention includes at least one user-selectable switch and at least one electrical contact in electrical communication with the at least one user-selectable switch. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, a cellular telephone is provided, wherein the telephone includes a sensing circuit configured to detect the presence of a charging unit. It further includes a circuit configured to identify from the charging unit a designated number to which to forward incoming calls to.

  • Patent number: 6131358
Abstract: A joist hanger includes a thin, flat base whose back side defines a surface area sufficient to cover a rearwardly-tapered through-hole formed in an interior panel of a modular wall preform. The joist hanger includes at least one anchor member on the back side of the base. Each anchor member extends rearwardly from the base into the through-hole to a depth greater the nominal thickness of the first panel. Each anchor member defines an angled deflecting surface such that, with the joist hanger's base secured to the panel so as to cover the through-hole, and with the anchor members extending into and through the through-hole, wall material poured into the preform will be urged by the deflecting surfaces toward the back side of the joist hanger, into the through-hole and around the anchor members, whereby the presence of voids behind the joist hanger is greatly reduced.

  • Patent number: 6091948
Abstract: A call forwarding automation feature in a wireless telephone provides automated activation and deactivation of conventional carrier system call forwarding. The wireless telephone provides for storing multiple call forwarding telephone numbers, selecting a call forwarding telephone number based upon location information, automatically activating call forwarding to the selected telephone number during a wireless telephone power down sequence, and automatically deactivating the call forwarding during a wireless telephone power up sequence. Programming is also provided for configuring and enabling the call forwarding feature. In another embodiment, the wireless telephone automatically prompts the user for activation of call forwarding each time the user powers down the wireless telephone. The process also provides the user an ability to select from a list of stored call forwarding telephone numbers to use, as well as providing the user an ability to manually input a new telephone number.

  • Patent number: 5800148
Abstract: A rotary tool for forming a blind-tapered hole in a workpiece includes an elongate shaft having a bit shank on one end and a base plate secured to the other end. A collar, mounted for axial movement on the shaft, is biased away from the base plate to a first position on the shaft by a return spring. At least two cutting blades are pivotally attached to the collar. A portion of the length of each cutting blade is fixedly circumferentially and radially supported relative to the shaft by a blade guide that rotates with the shaft such that the angle formed between each cutting blade and the shaft's rotational axis increases with increasing axial displacement of the collar on the shaft away from the first position.

  • Patent number: 5385484
Abstract: A modular plug and cover therefor includes a plug body having an insert portion and a rear portion having an indentation. The rear portion receives a cable for connection to the insert portion. A cover for the modular plug is of a substantially rectangular configuration having an open end fitting over the rear portion of the plug body. The cover portion is engageable with the plug body such that an enclosed space is defined between an end of the rear portion of the plug and an opposing inner wall of the cover. The cover is further provided with a tapered projection on an inner surface thereof which corresponds to the location of the indentation and an access opening through which a cable connected to the modular plug is passed. The cover portion may also be engaged with the plug in an inverted state to change the direction in which the cable is oriented.
