  • Publication number: 20140074030
Abstract: A pump system and method of detecting/alerting for a possible unintended free flow condition in an administration set includes the steps of a) sampling force signals from a force sensor of the pump at a predetermined frequency; b) storing each of the sampled forces signal in a N-point circular buffer, where N is an integer greater than two; c) calculating a derivative dF/dt based on the two most recent samples; d) repeating step c) and when the most recently calculated derivative dF/dt exceeds a first predetermined threshold, then calculating a N-point moving average of the derivatives dF/dt; and f) when the N-point moving average exceeds a second predetermined threshold, generating a user perceptible alarm to alert the user that a flow stop open condition may have occurred.

  • Publication number: 20140073297
Abstract: Methods and systems provide an active chip configured for connection to the battery or other component of a host mobile communication device, such as a cellular phone, to thereby add functionality to the host mobile communication device. The system may be installed and used for covert operations (i.e. military and/or law enforcement), adding features such as location tracking and voice recognition and recording to monitor the movement and use of the host mobile device covertly. The system may be used to communicate with other locally enabled systems on a local network instead of communicating through the cellular network, or operate as a radio transceiver or “push-to-talk” device such as a “walkie-talkie.” It may be used as a “kid tracker” location tracking device, to find a lost host mobile device, lost person carrying the host mobile device, or track locations where a host mobile device has been.

  • Publication number: 20130326477
Abstract: Detection, identification, and control of application behavior dealing with malware, security risks, data privacy, or resource usage can be difficult in an era of complex, composite software applications composed of multiple components. Software applications are analyzed to determine their components and to identify the behaviors associated with each of the components. Components can also be analyzed with respect to similarity of previously known components. Behaviors can include use of personal identifying information or device information, or any actions that can be taken by applications on the device, including user interface displays, notifications, network communications, and file reading or writing actions. Policies to control or restrict the behavior of applications and their components may be defined and applied. In one embodiment this can include the identification of advertising networks and defining policies to permit various opt-out actions for these advertising networks.

  • Publication number: 20120290640
Abstract: To prevent malware, spyware and other undesirable applications from affecting mobile communication devices (e.g., smartphones, netbooks, and tablets), a device uses a server to assist in identifying and removing undesirable applications. When scanning an application, a device transmits information about the application to a server for analysis. The server receives the information, produces a categorization assessment and can provide a categorization re-assessment, and transmits the assessment to the device. By performing analysis on a server, a device can reduce its battery and performance cost of protecting against undesirable applications. The server transmits notifications to devices that have installed applications that are discovered to be undesirable. The server receives data about applications from many devices, using the combined data to minimize false positives and provide comprehensive protection against known and unknown threats.

  • Publication number: 20120233695
Abstract: A system and method for preventing malware, spyware and other undesirable applications from affecting mobile communication devices uses a server to assist in identifying and removing undesirable applications. When scanning an application, a device transmits information about the application to a server for analysis. The server receives the information, produces a characterization assessment and can also provide a characterization re-assessment for the application, or data object, and transmits the assessment to the device. By performing analysis on a server, the invention allows a device to reduce the battery and performance cost of protecting against undesirable applications. The servers transmit notifications to devices that have installed applications that are discovered to be undesirable. The server can accumulate this data and then perform a characterization re-assessment of a data object it has previously assessed to provide an assessment based upon one of trust, distribution and ratings information.

  • Patent number: 8102452
Abstract: A pixel accumulates charge and an active guard ring surrounds the pixel. A buffer has an input terminal coupled to the pixel and an output terminal coupled to the active guard ring. • Patent number: 8037908
Abstract: A slide valve system for a powder or liquid reservoir bottle which closes the reservoir bottle and allows the reservoir bottle to be tipped away from a subjacent dispensing bottle fed by the reservoir bottle. Once the reservoir bottle is tipped away the slide valve can be opened and the reservoir bottle filled. The reservoir bottle can then be closed by the slide valve and tipped back onto the dispensing bottle. Once on top of the dispensing bottle the valve can be opened and the contents of the reservoir bottle can enter the dispensing bottle by gravity flow. The slide valve must be closed in order to rotate the reservoir bottle away from the dispensing bottle. Likewise, the reservoir bottle must be locked in a vertical position with the reservoir bottle over the dispensing bottle in order to open the slide valve.

  • Patent number: 7903016
Abstract: A high power digital to analog converter (DAC) includes (a) an array of n bipolar transistors arranged in a binary sequence, (b) a depletion mode FET and (c) an array of n switches. The collector terminals of each bipolar transistor in the array are tied together. Furthermore, the depletion mode FET includes a source terminal which is directly connected to the collector terminals of each bipolar transistor. The FET also includes a gate terminal connected to a ground potential, and a drain terminal. Each bipolar transistor is sized to be a factor larger than its preceding transistor in the array of n bipolar transistors, for example, twice as large. The array of n switches is controlled by a digital word of n bits. Each of the n switches selectively activates a respective bipolar transistor in the array of n bipolar transistors. As the n switches are selectively activated, the array of n bipolar transistors provides n binary weighted collector currents in the source terminal of the FET.
