  • Patent number: 10721560
Abstract: Various aspects include approaches for intelligent acoustic beam steering. In particular aspects, a computer-implemented method of controlling a microphone array includes: generating an acoustic map including an acoustic description of a physical environment proximate the speaker system; focusing the microphone array in a direction based upon the acoustic map prior to receiving a voice command input at the microphone array, where generating the acoustic map includes: detecting a location of at least one noise source in the physical environment; and creating a microphone array filter configured to at least partially reject the at least one noise source; receiving voice feedback input from a user at the microphone array; and updating the acoustic map of the physical environment based upon the received voice feedback input.

  • Publication number: 20050256662
Abstract: Test apparatus comprising: a connector (8) for connecting to the test apparatus (1) a system to be tested, a processor (2) for controlling the operation of the test apparatus and a user interface device (6) for presenting an interface to a user for the provision of input and output, a plurality of test routines (401, 402, 403), each defining a test to be performed on a system to be tested, each test routine having associated information relating to an input user interface (411, 412, 413) and an output user interface (421, 422, 423) to be presented to a user in response to the associated test routine being selected, the processor (2) being arranged, on selection of a particular test routine (401), to present to the user a user interface determined by the information (411, 421) associated with the selected test routine, the user interface being a simulation of the conventional test apparatus normally used to carry out the test routines on the system to be tested.

  • Patent number: 4006558
Abstract: A two-piece tubular apparatus which when the two pieces are frictionally engaged forms a multiple cavity device for the planting and propagation of seedlings such as shrubs, trees, and the like. Each cavity is corrugated around the entire outer perimeter thereof. The lower portion of each cavity slopes inwardly terminating in an opening sufficient to allow for drainage but which is considerably smaller than the top opening. The device is freestanding and has an outwardly extending tab section near the top thereof so that said apparatus or device can rest in a container without the bottom of said device touching the floor of said container.
