Abstract: Techniques are described for enabling content creation devices in a user's on-premises environment to establish a network connection with and to communicate with content creation software running on a remote server in its own virtual private cloud of a cloud provider. One or more services of a cloud provider network provide automated processes and resources for facilitating such connections. For example, a user or application can request to establish a network connection between an on-premises peripheral device and content creation software running on computing resources provisioned by the cloud provider network. The cloud provider network can then launch and configure a virtual router with appropriate tunneling configurations for routing network traffic originating from the peripheral device to the instance. The service can further provide configuration data, configuration scripts, or other data that can be used to configure a tunnel at a local router to which the peripheral device is attached.
