  • Patent number: 12200420
Abstract: A microphone assembly can include a microphone capsule having a diaphragm and a diaphragm cover, a grill for protecting the microphone capsule, and a filter material placed between the grill and the diaphragm cover. The microphone assembly can include a first air gap between the grill and the filter material to create a first interface, a second air gap between the filter material and the diaphragm cover to create a second interface, and a third air gap between the diaphragm cover and a diaphragm to create a third interface. The first interface, the second interface, and the third interface are each configured to create turbulence to assist in draining off energy from plosives and wind and reduce intensity of disturbances at the diaphragm. The filter material may include a mesh and can be supported by a frame, and the frame may be configured to fit underneath the grill.

  • Patent number: 11228847
Abstract: A microphone can include a cover having a series of slits and a nest. The nest can be configured to receive a first diaphragm, a second diaphragm, and a PCB in a stacked arrangement, such that the PCB is positioned between the first diaphragm and the second diaphragm. Also, the first diaphragm can define a first plane, the second diaphragm can define a second plane, and the PCB can define a third plane and the first plane, the second plane, and the third plane can extend parallel to one another. The cover can also include slits having a first length and a second length, and the first length can be greater than the second length. The slits can extend both radially and axially.

  • Patent number: 10397680
Abstract: A communications headset in which a microphone at the end of a support boom can be adjustably secured in a position selected by the wearer and can accommodate a variety of wearers. The headset may include a boom arm clip configured to receive a boom arm retaining a microphone. The boom arm clip can include an opening, and the opening may include a pair of grooves, the pair of grooves together can define a channel sized to fit and retain the boom arm therein. The headset may also include an adjusting knob, which can secure the boom arm clip in order to adjustably fix the boom arm in a number of positions on the headset to accommodate for different sized users.
